Appearance: dark brown, not much head or carbonation. Nose: has a definite wine nose, plum, caramel and brandy - reminded me a lot of the Flying Dog Horn Dog Barley Wine. Taste has a dominant grape musk taste similar to brandy, as well as toffee\caramel, raisins and plum port. A complex beer, which won’t be for everyone, but one of the more exciting beers I have tried to date. Price Paid: £2 on clearance. GeorgePratt (83) - Stockport, Cheshire, ENGLAND - JAN 8, 2017
Pours a dark amber with small white head. Complex aroma of caramel, banana, apricot, coriander. Smooth silky taste of burnt oats, dark chocolate, raisin, wood, bread with a smooth slightly metallic finish. Excellent. Carlisle (795) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 2, 2017
Bottle. Pours opaque bronze with light tan head. Funky nose of raisins, sweet cherries, and earthy, sour fruit notes. Raisins and toffee upfront followed by sweet plums with subtle chocolate notes in the long finish. Fine carbonation and a chewy mouthfeel.

A copper color with a white head. Aroma contains some caramel, apricot, citrus, and spices. Some burnt wood in there too. The flavor is full of spices. I taste citrus, ginger, caramel, and apricots. A bit of alcohol is present in this one. Aftertaste is sweet and a bit smokey. Overall a nice but unusual beer. DocJitsu (2035) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Pours a dark golden with a huge tan head. Sweet malty nose. Rich, malty flavor.

Pas trop mal. Supporte très mal l’oxydation.
Nez très caramel, réglisse, cannelle, légèrement fumé.
Bouche assez sirupeuse mais vite rance, léger caramel, un peu plus de fumé. Moins de subtilité et de corps.
Dommage. Rotaldinho (201) - Paris, FRANCE - NOV 5, 2016

Shared 11.2 oz. bottle. Hazy amber with a light beige head. Aroma of malt, bread, brown sugar. Taste is malt, caramel, dark fruit notes, oak. Decent. darbeer75 (989) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - OCT 29, 2016
Aroma: faintly malty; not much aroma; Appearance: murky amber pour with thin white head that lingers; Taste: oddly reminiscent of sweet potatoes; malty and lightly spicy; Palate: medium body with long, sweet finish; Overall: not really a traditional belgian strong ale, but okay. Might get again.
