A smooth dark mild. Chocolate malt gives plenty of flavour and aroma which belies its strength.

[Cask at Church Inn, Ludlow] Tasty mild, (moderately) coffeish, with distinct smokey tones

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2006 [Cask at GBBF] Dark brown. Sweetish with light but solid body. Nicely roasty with notes of bread and fruit. Fairly low bitterness. A well made mild!

studrinksmild (1) - Wolverhampton, ENGLAND - JUN 8, 2006 does not count
Very smooth and dark. Full bodied chocolate malt flavour with a roast like aroma. My favourite Mild , wish it were more widely available.

Cask Stillage at the Ship & Mitre, Liverpool 27/02/2003 Mid brown colour and smooth on the palate. Poured lively. Some coffee flavours in the roast finish.

Decent coffee-like roastiness with underlying toasty and bready malt notes. Clear amber-copper coloured body is topped with a low tan head that lasts well. Biscuity, toasty and lightly roasty, nutty flavour is all malt. Light body with fairly lively carbonation that gently prickles the tongue. Cask at GBBF 2005.

Beer No 39 on the Wilsons’ Road Trip 2005. Cask at The Church Inn, Ludlow. nice to get a mild outside of May. Dark brown, beige head, aroma of chocolate, toast, nut, caramel, hint of smoke. Roasty fruity finish. Yum.

Cask (GBBF): Strange aroma, caramel with herby fruits? Sweetish malts with a toasty nutty malt finish. Medium bodied. Ruby amber in colour. Not bad.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2010 Cask at GBBF 2005 Another of the very good milds at the festival. Dark brown in colour with some nice caramel malt flavours, nice hop finish. I will certainly have this again if I see it. 737313 3.3/5.0 Re-rate The Guildhall, Folkestone cask conditioned handpull. Wow what an amazing assortment of deep rich fruit flavours, choc and coffee malt and a slight sting on the finish. The condition was perfect too. A superb mild

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A brown beer with a small brown head. The aroma is very sweet, while the flavor is sweet roasted with notes of caramel.

chriso (7536) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2004
Not very dark coloured for a mild. Some roasted malt and coffee in the aroma. Much the same on the palate. Plenty of backbone. A most appealing mild. Cask (gravity dispense) at Peterborough Beer Festival.
