A smooth dark mild. Chocolate malt gives plenty of flavour and aroma which belies its strength.

A Mes rate: Cask at some random Sporks in Hammersmith. Clear darkish brown with no head. Very much on the lighter side of mild. Aroma of malt and sweaty feet. Flavour is a little better with floral hops, sweet malt and a slight hint of sourness. Light apple note too. Thin and pretty poor.

Cask (The York, Islington) Light coffee aroma. Creamy mouthfeel and full malty body - richly roasted and malty. Classic mild, brilliant for 3.2%, not watery at all.

Counting House. Aroma is roasty malt, milk chocolate, light hints at coffee. Taste is similar, like milk chocolate coated coffee beans. Amazing body for the %.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Mahogany colour with beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with coffee and slightly nutty notes. Toasty, nutty taste with notes of coffee and spicy hints of hops. Mainly dry. Balanced and very quaffable. Decent bitterness for a mild. Not my Champion Beer of Britain, but this is a good mild.

[email protected] Dark amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is slightly roasted, wooden and a bit rubbery. Flavour is mildly roasted malts with some flowery hops and weakly rubber underneath it all.

Cask. Brown of color with a beige head. An aroma with notes of chocolate. A flavor of notes of choclate and caramel, hints of roasted malt and smoke.

RoyceH (1200) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - AUG 14, 2007
Cask, GBBF 2007. Malty roasted with some odd unexpected floral hop character. Dark brown, thin off-white head. Flavour is quite bitter for a mild, tangy then a standard mild finish. Bit inoffensive. Good beer, yeah I suppose, CBOB, no.

Beautiful amber color; nice small bubbles; no head. Caramel aroma. Good taste, dry, chocolate, mild roasted malt. Quite good.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2007 Mahogany with a small off-white head. Malt and caramel aroma. Rich malty flavour, some wood, some roast notes and a good body for the strength.

Half pint pulled at The Church Inn in Ludlow (Shropshire), a clear light brown with a yellowish head. A light malt aroma. A definite coffee flavour on a light sweet palate. Very good.
