An elegant, straw coloured bitter. The hint of sweetness is complemented by subtle hop flavours, leading to a dry finish. Brewed using Maris Otter pale Ale malt, Hobson's yeast and finished with Worcestershire Goldings and Herefordshire Progress hops.

Bottle, 500ml. *** Colour: Bright, hazy golden yellow. Big, fluffy white head. *** Nose: Grains, yeast, a hint of lemon. Mild herbs. *** Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, but hardly watery. Active carbonation. *** Taste: Light caramel, floral hops, yeast and mild herbs at the start. Rather hoppy and bitter toweards the middle, some herbs. Bitter finish, or hops and a little lemon, more lemony in the aftertaste. *** Impressions: Yeasty and agreeably bitter, well, "bitter" (although that style designation really doesnt tell anyone anything!) with quite a profile to it, more substance than most golden ales. Well done.

Dark golden/light orange. Head is not big but pretty thick and nicely persistent. Moderate lacing. Aroma of light caramel and crackery/crisp malts, a herbal hint and subtle fruitiness. Taste follows the aroma with light to average sweetness and bitterness. Finish is dry and distinctly bitter, but in a delicate way. Both aroma and taste are not bold, but definitely fine. Light body with low to medium crispness, easy mouthfeel. Nice one

Golden blonde beer with a slight undertone of bitter flavor. Beer has quite a bit of carbonation/fizz and pour pretty fast out of the bottle so take care in pouring. I wasn't able to taste the hit of sweetness that was referenced on the label. Instead, this beer tasted a bit metallic. This is by far my least favorite offering from Hobson. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2015 Cask at the Bell & Talbot, Bridgnorth. Light gold with a small uneven white head. Light malty aroma. Taste picks up a bit with a basic but pleasant bittersweet. Hops arent particularly noticeable so the malt rules the roost. A bit warm and buttery in the finish. No thanks.

Bottle picked up from Morrisons Minehead. Light golden yellow coloured pour with a thin lasting white head and a fine haze. Aroma is nice fresh grains / straw faint citrus. Nice little saison yeast thing on the nose as well. Flavour is composed light earthy grains, little wheat, light citrus. Palate is nice and grainy, moderate carbonation. Pretty decent.
