Meh - English beers are generally not to my liking, so this review is definitely from that angle. Tastes like a brown ale, with a little more bite and a little more fizz on the palate. Not bad - too sweet for me - but I could drink one. Almost not hops, which is what I’m missing the most.

BrewWhatIWant (296) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 17, 2017
Pours clear dark ruby with a small brown head. Aroma is malty. Taste is bitter with a sweet finish. There are notes of roast malt, coffee, ash, a bit of caramel. It’s light bodied with low-medium carbonation. It has an unpleasant combination of smoky ash and sweetness like a marshmallow in a campfire.

473 ml can. Clear dark reddish brown colour, thick tan head. Caramel-malty aroma with notes of cocoa, nuts and berries. The flavour is sweetish malty, mildly roasted, with caramel and coffee notes. Not bad.

Really love this beer, great dark easy drinking beer with lots of flavour. Highly recommended to anyone who likes dark beer.

One of the best dark beers I’ve experienced. Coffee notes that are delicate yet rich. Clean and smooth. Pours a robust head.

473 ml can @ Timo A. Canned 08.08.2016.
Pours clear dark ruby red color with a small head. Berries on the nose, malts, some ripe fruits, some chocolate. Harsh malt bitterness and cocoa on the flavor, coffee, some nutty dry notes. Okay but nothing special here.

Gerbeer (4024) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 13, 2016
463 ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with short head. Aromas of nuts and coffee. Metallic flavors of same with additional roasted barley. Very much old style English pub stuff.

VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 16, 2016
473 ml can. Pours a clearish ruby reddish brown with a resilient beige head. Aroma is roast, red berry, ash. Flavor is burnt caramel, ash, cherry, coffee. Finish is coffee, dark chocolate. Light body, watery mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation.

RobBestwick (967) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 3, 2016
From a can. Coffee and chocolate aroma. Pours dark brown with very minimal head and a good amount of carbonation. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavour - very malty. Medium body. Long sweet finish.

cmacklin (1312) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 27, 2016
473ml can. Pours a clear red-brown with a small, short lived, beige head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, chocolate, nuts and a hint of vanilla. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and nuts with a slightly bitter coffee finish. Light body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. Ok.

ChadPoole (479) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 16, 2016
473ml can in a shaker. Pours deep brow with a tan head. Nice chocolate malt aroma. Good blend of chocolate and roasted coffee taste, with a medium body. Enjoyable beer
