COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit) is one of a kind. It is traditionally brewed with a mysterious blend of dark malts and flavored with spices. It underwent a slow second fermentation in the bottle so it matures into a delicious tasting beer with a complex flavor and a wonderful flavor balance between sweet and dry. Keep up this beer in a dark place and pour it at 5-6C. Flavored with spices.

Bottle - Cloudy amber colour, medium off-white head, good durablity, fine lacing. Spicy aromas of malt, wheat, caramel, peach, dried plum, raisins, candy and some tutti-frutti, a bit sourish in the end. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth texture, nice fruity finish. Great belgian strong ale.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2016 Pours cloudy brown with off white head. Grape aromas, apple and some overripe fruit - reminiscent of cider in a certain way. Flavours include a very clear apricot (if you have ever tried one of those sun-dried apricots, that kind of taste), blended in with malt and caramel. Medium body, fruitiness in retrohale, so Im guessing a fair amount of esters to it. Long, gradual finish with a very subtle bitterness fading in just at the end. Well crafted.

This beer is very well done. The taste is sweet but equilibrated. However it has an alcoholic taste that comes back that we didnt appretiate.

Me ha gustado mucho. Aroma y sabor muy diferentes a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados esta marca.

0.33 bottle. A clear, brown color and a large off-white head leaving some good lacing. Aroma is composed of spices, yeasts, and flowers - a typical Belgian. Taste is quite sweet once again with spices, yeasts, fruits, and some flowers; it also introduced a bit of caramel. A medium to full body, a creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. The finish is long and sweet, relatively good. Overall the beer is really pleasant, it would seem that Hoegaarden can brew something more than a commercial Witbier.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber beer with a huge light brown head. Aroma is sweet with notes of spices and yeast, slight fruit. Flavour is really sweet, candy sugar. Notes of fruit, spices, yeast. Finishes off with a slight burn in the throat of alcohol and yeast flavour.
