UPDATED: NOV 21, 2010 33 cL bottle. Had this the first time in 1994 or 1993 at brewery, tour done by Celis himself. This was a cross Europe highschool meetup sponsered by the EC, Netherlands (one brewers daughter and a very pretty intelligent girl I’ll never forget), Belgium (catholic girls class...bad girls :), Denmark and Germany (former DDR) met up for a full week at Alden Biesen for political debate and workshops. Clearly remember this beer, first real love with Belgian beer. The girls in our highschool group where keen on the wit - hence I traded my glass of wit for another glass of Verboden Vrucht. I remember the hearted political conversation with a top Dutch bloke from Maastricht on the way back on the bus, clearly helped by the good beer. Pours hazy brown with a light brown head. Fruity and slight spiced hoppy aroma with a slight yeasty note. Flavour is slight sweet, fruity and minor spice note. Yeasty spiced finish with a slight edge. Very nice. My first belgian beer ever.
A hazy dark amber beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of coriander and oranges. The flavor is also extremely sweet, almost cloying, with notes of oranges and peach, the end is quite dry and spicy. The mouthfeel is thin, but the alcohol burns slightly in the throat. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2005

Dark cloudy amber colour. Tan long lasting head. Lots of yeast in the aroma with some maltiness aswell. Flavor is malty with some hints of hops and some bitterness in the aftertaste. This one is pretty good.
