Yellow stained white in color with a big spritzy white froth. Aroma, well I’m not gonna publicize what my initial write up said but I will say it smelled like canned, tart flesh. Light nectar weight. Crisp, clean flavors of Jolly Rancher Granny Smith fruit candy. Goes flat after the froth settles. Dry and flavorfull with a clean finish.

This was my first white beer. It was love at first sip. I tried many beers while in Belgium, Netherlands and Germany but I kept coming back to the Hoegaarden White.

6 pack 12oz bottles from Lee’s Liquor: Not as tasty as some belgian whites I have brewed at home, but mine didn’t come all the way from belgium =) Still very tasty, with a perfect witbier appearance-the pour looks white. Perfectly balanced wheat beer flavors and spices, but I prefer a bit more tang and aggressiveness than this has. Definitely the best choice for the summer heat.

alafito (334) - tijuana, MEXICO - APR 25, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2006 a simple beer, with a very light taste of lager with orange and spices. Its refreshing and pours a hazy hay color with a huge heaven white head. The finish is oily-sweet and tangy, not my favorite style so far. Expected it to be more crisp and refreshing. It felt a little chewy with a hint of vinegar on the tongue. It would problably go down really well with salads.

This one pours a very light hazy yellow color. Almost looks like an unfiltered light beer with thick foamy head. The smell is sweet with hints of citrus. Mouthfeel is thin and high in carbonation. The taste is excellent, strong citrus flavor and a sweet lingering aftertaste. One of my favorites so far. Great witbier!

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2008 My first Belgian White. Light yellow color, thick creamy head. Apparrent coriander and citrus flavors. Perfumy and spicy in aroma, and a honeyish character. In recent times that I’ve tried this it’s developed lots of bubblegum in the late batches. I guess when you begin to sell at that large of a scale you lose some quality..

sinkhole (263) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2007 Large white head, opaque light yellow appearance. Citrus and spice fragerance which follows through to the taste. Excellent all round beer.

pierogy (15) - San Francisco, California, USA - APR 24, 2006
A very comforting and relaxed belgian white ale. Not as strong as other belgian whites, but mixes orange and natural spices with a smooth finish

Hazmatt (363) - Virginia, USA - APR 22, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2007 Bottle. Thick white head, hazy straw color, mild aroma of spice, yeast. A delicate malty and soft wheat taste with hints of citrus and spice, balanced perfectly for a summer day. This is the finest example of white beer.

Beerdedone (3480) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2006
UPDATED: APR 27, 2006 On Draft at Issac Newtons with Stegosaurus. Pours pale golden with a white head. Aroma of spices, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is smooth and refreshing, spices, citrus, yeast. I like wittikerke better.
