UPDATED: SEP 20, 2010 Sweet and smooth with a frothy eggshell head. Creates a fruit party in your mouth with hints of banana and slightly bitter orange. A beer that most people will fall in love with. K- 4.6/5 S-4.4/5

Lemony gold with foamy white head. Smells of banana, coriander, citrus, stonefruit, grass and earth. Tastes of banana, apricot, lime, mandarin, coriander. So good for 3 bucks a stubby.

Since college this is one of my favorite "every day" white beers. In summer drink it from a well frozen glass and a slice of lemon. That will give a refreshing boost. The beer has a nice head. The taste is soft like most white beers. However Hoegaarden gave it a fresh twist. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Birra bianca per eccellenza: dal colore giallo paglierino, torbido e velato, presenta una schiuma persistente, fine e profumata di scorze darancio. Fresca e dissetante, molto beverina.

Pours a very pale hazy yellow coloured beer with a foamy white head. The nose is very perfumed with notes of orange/citrus with some spice and a hint of yeast. Fruity in the taste and more citrussy notes. Finishes with a thick sweet maltiness. This beer is great.

Clearly there are comments from folks that do not understand or appreciate beer styles and the potential for variation in regional styles from around the world. The Belgian Wit is a very unique beer style with a strong spiced character and varying degrees of yeast flavor. Classic Hoegaarden (things are beginning to shift due to Unibrue ownership and corporate influences) is a world-class beer. The tangy and tart character of the yeast and coriander infusion, combined with a creaminess from heavy carbonation and generous raw wheat and oat adjuncts makes it clear that this is not your ordinary beer. Just as Anheuser-Busch makes a world-class American Premium Lager, Hoegaarden is the exemplar of the Beligan wit style. That does not mean you have to love the beer, but it does a great job of being what it is supposed to be.

clear straw yellow with a huge white foamy head. Aroma is sweet, bready, malty but not heavy... really fresh. The first impression on mouth is smooth. The second is refreshing... citrus and yeast. Really excellent beer.
