DutchDrebus (5982) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2011
Dark brown, slightly red colour. Not a lot of smell coming through, even after letting it rest for a little bit. Smells good and the mouthfeel is very nice. Active, bit tingly.

Benzai (15587) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JUN 24, 2011
Hazy cloudy dark brown/red color. Little head, not much smell. Full body for a 6.5ABV. Taste light caramel, little sticky. Lively carbo.

bottled. copper colour, sweet, slightly medicinal aroma. semi-sweet, brown sugar, a faint earthiness and unexciting finish. pretty average for the style

sayravai (4710) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 28, 2006
(Bottled) Red-amber color with a medium head. Smooth-caramely aroma with dried fruit and grainy malt. Caramely-grainy-malty flavor with slight roastiness and licorice hints. Medium to full-bodied, smooth but foamy-carbonated palate. An easy and quite pleasant dubbel. On the sweet side, but ok.

Hunsell (403) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 5, 2005
Brownred, large head that stays. Caramel aroma, slightly tart, fruity. Taste is more fruit than caramel, again, slightly tart. Pretty wellbodied. Interesting and surprising. Very good beer! Somehow reminds a little bit of Corsendonk Pater

eczematic (1325) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - FEB 28, 2005
lovely smell, very "brown" smelling with all things sweet, malty and earthy. plenty of caramel. taste is very sweet, simple round malt and caramel - nothing exciting at first, then you gradually notice a faint rodenbachy musky redskins flavour. also there is a bit of minty, peppery hop presence, just enough to dry it up in the finish but not enough to be actually bitter. a well made beer i say, not pretentious but original enough. reminded me of tongerlo brune which also has that combination of caramel sweetness and a hint of brett.

jerohen (2296) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - FEB 4, 2004
Bottle conditioned, BB 03-09-05. Hazy amber/brown coloured, nice head. Caramel malty aroma. Caramel flavour as wel, sweet with some oak. Hoppy finish. Balanced brew.

I couldn't add anything more to the descriptions already given. Indeed quite a surprise!

skortila (5850) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 30, 2003
Very sweet, malty and fruity (strawberries) aroma. Nice and strong. Cloudy, brown coloured with an initially large rocky head, vanishes completely. Taste is sweet, wood, malty and fruity. Moore bitter in the end. Palate is sharp. Quite good beer.

maupie (1098) - Roosendaal, NETHERLANDS - MAR 18, 2003
This beer has a amber body - hue with a bitter initial flavor and a light body.
