[email protected], Tampere. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is butter scotch, some toffee, ashes, alsohol and some toasted notes. Flavour is ripe fruits, sherry, wood, toffee, alcohol, some liquorice and mild raisins. Complex, but still a bit too thin palate compared to the elements and complexity.

Tasted from the bottle at the Barcelona Beer Fest (14/03/2015). Clear dark brown colour with a big off-white head. Aroma of caramel, red fruits and alcohol. Taste of red fruits, alcohol and wood. Medium to full body and low carbonation. Next one please!

Alengrin (5369) - BELGIUM - AUG 21, 2014
One of a whole series of barrel-aged luxury Dormaals intended for export (like many exclusive Belgian brews - unfortunately!). Yellowish white, stable head, very dark bronze colour, misty. Tempting and powerful aroma of - of course - dry sherry, apple, caramel, candi syrup, wood, iron, liquorice, raisins, pear and marzipan. Soft fruity taste, pear and plums, caramel maltiness with a chocolatey touch, complex finish of warming, indeed sherry-like alcohol and grassy hops. Very nice and inviting to try them all.

26/V/14 - 75cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-568) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for picking this one up for me!

Clear dark brown beer, big fizzy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, dried fruits, chocolate, caramel, some banana, alcohol, fruity phenols. MF: lots and lots of carbon, way too much! Medium body. Taste: pretty roasted, sweet touch, caramel, overripe banana, bit sourish, lots of alcohol. Aftertaste: bit chocolaty, sourish touch, banana, alcohol. One of the better experiments!

Rich flavour of wood, plums, cherries, alcohol, bready maltiness and saltiness. Drinkability is surprisingly good. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a warming, round, dry finish. Great.
