Dark brown, very clear pour with a 4 finger, fizzly tan head that fades to a thick skim pretty quickly, then is constantly churning, fueled by a very high effervescence, eventually leaving just a tiny mound of bubbles churning away in the middle. It looks very much like cola poured into a glass that had a little milk residue in it. Aroma is mostly tree fruit esters, apple skin like overall, as it warms and the effervescence dies down a bit the aroma get more interesting with nice dark fruit and dark vinous notes. Flavor is licorice, dark fruit, a little meaty metallic salinity, light dusty chocolate, plain pistachios, earth, sweet vinous notes, it finishes like a sweet port mixed with a highly carbonated quad and cola might finish if that were a thing. Medium to heavy, syrupy kind of gloopy body, heavy, soda like, sharp carbonation. Decent overall, it has some weird meaty, blood-like qualities that don’t really work that well, aroma and flavor wise. It seems like it was heavily filtered and way-over force carbonated leaving a pretty weird feel overall especially with the gloopy feel of a beer with lots of oats or thickening agents. Still, decently enjoyable, but at $17/750ml a very poor value. I would think that this could be an amazing beer to cook with.
750ml bottle. Cork pop off with 1 twist of the cage and almost took out my bedroom light. Lucky no gush. Poured a dark brownish color with an off white head. Dark fruits, wood, some earthiness, port, and caramel. MrW (741) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - DEC 26, 2014

Clear dark brown beer, big aery beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: pretty sourish, bit lemony, wood, red berries, dusty attic, mouldy cork. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, lots of caramel, sweet, some mocha, roasted flavours, fruity touch, red berries, little bitter. Aftertaste: bit roasted, sourish, moulded cork, little bitter, mocha, sour red berries. The cork seemed to be fine, so I wonder where the mould aroma and flavour comes from. Trouble in the barrel?
750 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. Pours a dark ruby colour with a white thick head. Aroma of porto, cherries, figs and earthiness. Rich and complex flavour of red berries, porto, oak, cherries, some chocolate, plums and vanilla. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Beautiful balance. Even better than the Armagnac version.

Pours dark red color with a large lasting head. Aroma of brown sugar, sweet ripe fruits and caramel malts, some toffee too. Flavor of dark berries, ripe fruits, work and some distinct port notes. Smooth palate, very n nice and complex. Probably the best of the bunch.
750ml Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Nose: caramel, moccha, dark fruit, sweet fruity aroma on the back, malts, very distinct alcohol flavour but also a bit muff. Taste: very wooden, dry. Porto finish definitely kicks in. If they wanted a porto finish with this barrel aging, goal succeeded. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - OCT 22, 2013
Draft at Blue Monk, dark brown maroon pour. Light head. Light aroma for everything that’s involved here. Some port notes, earthy. Port flavors upfront but find little base beer presence. Some dark fruits, raisins. Ok bierkoning (13687) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - SEP 6, 2013
Corked bottle. dark brown color. Porto aroma, raisin. malty sweet alcoholic flavor with orange peels, porto and raisin. Short aftertaste. The sweetness covers the power and strenght of this beer. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - AUG 6, 2013
