[email protected], thanks a lot; aromas of sherry, raisins, pear compote, all that getting denser in taste, morphing into port wine, dried pears, dried dark fruits and vanilla bean. Layered sipper.
bartlebier (4284) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - FEB 24, 201675cl shared at bastarda’s pre-BKL tasting, 2014 vintage? - Smells like an old sweet grape rosé, a touch of those destilled wine fumes, simpler malt sugars. Quite flat and unspectacular in flavour profile: mainly dark malt fruit sugars flattened out by a barrel and grape peel astringency, quick finish. Past its prime?
jaghana (6478) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - FEB 19, 2016Bottle 75cl shared by Bartlebier, a dark amber beer with low head. Nose is on chocolate, yellow fruits, bit sour like. Aroma is on sweet caramel, vinous, dry grapes notes, finish on fruits.

hopdog (13606) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2015750ml bottle. Poured a deeper brown color with an off white head. Dark fruits, vanilla, wood/oak, and some brandy.
slowrunner77 (13912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - AUG 20, 2014A nice enough dark belgian strong aged in cognac like barrels...but if memory serves, these are upwards of $30 per 750, and after trying this one so graciously provided by a friend, i would not spend half of what these cost on the others. Belgian spicy yeast and brown sugar comingle with the barrel. High ccarbonation covers tha abv pretty damn well. Good, just not elite, which is how it is priced
lusikka (7834) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 16, 2014750 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. Pours a dark ruby colour with a creamy white head. Aroma of cognac, lovely oaky notes and vanilla. Rich deep flavour of malts, bread, oak, vanilla, cognac, red berries, earth and caramel. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a sweet, lingering, vanilla finish. Elegant.
