A solid, tasty dunkel that felt like a session-beer for the century. Smooth, malty, but not too sweet. bierkoning (13614) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 21, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown color. Milk chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor, with soft roasty notes, hazelnuts and milk chocolate. Caramel. Pleasant dunkel. mR_fr0g (13226) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2014

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, light chocolate and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle (Merci, Jonas !) Deep chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized slightly lacing stable tanned head; dryish caramelly-toasty nose with a nutty touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft MF; a chocolatey touch shows up in the malty-caramelly finish. Very good Dunkles......... MoritzF (10068) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - AUG 31, 2008
(bottle) Clear, dark chestnut colour with a medium sized off-white foamy head. Light-sweet roast-malty aroma with caramel and notes of chocolate. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Dry toast-malty taste with caramel flavours; bitter and minimal sweet toasty finish. A solid Dunkel (26.08.08). JorisPPattyn (10062) - BELGIUM - APR 5, 2007
Huge fine & dense cream-yellow head over red-shot amber-brown beer. Caramel, dark malts and a bit vinous nose (which is rare in German beers). Also an aroma as from ivy leaves. Dry, leafy taste, old but wet brown bread, and a pinch of caramel at the end. Surprisingly little sweetness. Long dry, woody finish. Dry but medium bodied at least. No new aftertaste, finish goes on long enough. Quite good Dunkel. Products from this brewery seem to vary quite a lot, in my (limited) experience. My Bottom Line:Quack-Duck (9490) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 13, 2012
Raisins, cherries and nutty caramel conjure up an efficient pint of Dunkel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the misty auburn.
-Mouthfeel is on the dry side for the style.
-Malt flavors are well developed.
-Drinkability is high.
-Hops build a subtle wooden finish.
On tap at the Hüber restaurant in Freising.
bottle from Bierzwerg. Brown colour, mid-sized off-white to beige head. Malty, hints of caramel, slightly hoppy. Solid Dunkel without any special character.
