Flasche 50cl. Unspektakuläres goldfarbenes Exportbier ohne Ecken und Kanten. Changiert im Abgang ins süßliche.

Not really a lager fan but I'm really enjoying this. I bought it by mistake thinking it was by Hofbrau, my favourite German brewery. But nonetheless it is very enjoyable. Nothing special on the nose, but it drinks with good body and rounded malt flavours. A certain fruitiness to it too, but not citrusy, not hoppy. It lacks the metallic and off undertones you get with some macro lagers, so it pleases the whole palate. Quite sweet, but pleasantly so. Certainly beats the thin, watery "taste" of run-of-the-mill lagers. Go for it.

Bottle. Deep golden colour. Tall frothy head. Aroma: sweet malts, butterscotch, minor hops. Medium body. Malty taste with a buttery accent. Low bitterness. Disappointing.

From old tasting notes. Medium gold with a rocky white head. Sweet malt nose. Sweet malt flavor light dry hop finish. Good.

Light amber body, head that mysteriously appears half way after the pour, lively carbonation. Creamy yet astringent mouthfeel leaving a mild bitterness in the palate, medium heavy malts and mildly fruity, retains it’s flavour and carbonation right up to the last. One of the best Exports I have tried if not the best. Perfect mixture of a helles and a pilsner. What a wonderful beer!

*Many thanks to Martin for this bottle! Slightly grainy and smooth-sweetish. Not too deep, hints of grain, not much bitterness. Sessionable Helles without too much character.

500ml bottle at home on 1st Sep 2016 (from Beers of Europe). Pale golden pour, white crown. Light malty/grainy lead in both the aroma and taste. Expected some herbal/floral notes but there were none. Refreshing enough, but lacked depth and flavour.

Bottle on a train in Germany - shared with my bros on the Bamberg Jolly. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. An alright beer on the whole. There’s some papery cereal, light biscuits. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with restrained crispy cereal, pale bread, faint floral hops. Fairly basic, but not bad.
