By tradition, the first barrel of Maibock is tapped in the Hofbräuhaus in the last week of April, in time for the merry month of May. The success story of Munich’s oldest bock beer goes back as far as 1614. With its powerfully aromatic flavour and its alcoholic content of some 7.2% volume, Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar!

Sweet like candy. Caramel. Light translucent amber. Very light and drinkable. No head. Thanks seymour.

bottle. Golden with one finger head. Medium sweetness, almost honey-like. Medium hoppy bite that finishes clean. I've never really had a maibock that I enjoyed much, but this is surprisingly good, and I definitely enjoyed this.

Has a good aroma mix of caramel and shredded wheat, nice big head and clear copper body with minimal carbonation. Flavour is a good bread and rye mix with sweet wurt notes, and a smooth mouthfeel. Nice and refreshing.

Klares Bernstein mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, Karamell, süßlich, nussig, würzig, leicht bitter.

Må give Sarek ret, lidt underlig farve for lys. Men ellers en god øl der har en god fylde og en anelse skarp bocksmag

Diabobale (553) - ITALY - JUL 9, 2017
Ambrato carico, schiuma evanescente, al naso caramello bruciato e diacetile. Il bocca si ripetono , con qualche nota ossidativa da cartone bagnato. Carbonazione bassa e corpo medio-leggero.

meatmanmd (194) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUL 9, 2017
Nice clear amber, medium head. Nose is caramel, grain, grass, herbs. Tastes semisweet, caramel, mild herbal bitterness. Smooth and well balanced.

GhostS (549) - Chisinau, MOLDOVA - JUN 27, 2017
Aromă dulcie, cu mult malț caramelizat și malț crystal, flori, ceva ierburi medicinale, ceva hamei ierbos. Gust dulciu, ușor și plăcut caramelizat, malț proaspăt caramelizat, ceva ierburi sălbatice și medicinale, flori și ceva drodjii. Bună și foarte plăcută.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear brown. Aroma is light caramel, soft piney hops, little nuts. Body is medium, lively carbonated and rather sweet, even a bit sticky. Little bitterness. Some nut flavours, syrup. Rather sweet palate. Still not my type of beer, but this is okay.

Heidelbeer (41) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 18, 2017
Head is creamy dense, beige average long lasting. Beer is clear copper brown, dark orange. Aroma is medium intense after caramel, floral hops, a bit metallic and here it comes..gingerbread. Taste is averagely malty sweet, burnt caramel, and medium bitter. Finish is medium bitter and almost long lasting. Carbonation is refreshing but not overwhelming. A beer that is not complicated, enjoyable without any flaws, almost. By now the best Maibock i drank.
