While I really like the traditional offerings found in the states, this one takes me back to the Oktoberfest grounds in Munich. Dark golden color with a thick creamy head. Aroma of honey, light malt and aniseed. Spiciness in the flavor includes licorice and anise. Flavors of pale malt and honey. Finish is dominated by malt with just enough hops acidity to not make it cloying. Gemutlichkeit! TheBeerLover (1027) - DC Metro Area, USA - JAN 24, 2006
Hofbrau Munchen Oktoberfestbier pours to a bright golden color, with a good white head, and a good carbonation. This beer is marketed in 1/2 liter bottles, and I pour two into my authentic 1 liter maas, the vessel they drink beer out of at Octoberfest. The nose on this beer is very malty. Really nice grain like, slightly sweet malt aromas are balanced out with some really nice grassy hop aromatics. The palate is firm, this beer showcases pale malts very well, you really have good malt flavor in this beer. The mouth feel is smooth, round and clean. This beer finishes with more malt up front, then in balanced with just the right amount of hop bitterness. Really a very well done, very drinkable brew. This beer is perfect with a roasted chicken dinner, and I think it would work quite well with grilled fish such as cod or blue. Of course you could pair this with bratwurst, saurkraut, and a hot, soft, German pretzel. Octoberfest is here!! Prost!!

A fantastic Oktoberfest beer...very light in color but not in taste. Large lacey long-lasting head, with a lovely barley aroma. Has a nice malty, but not overbearing maerzen taste, balanced perfectly by the noble hops.
Be careful to buy this out of the case...where its been in the dark since Munich, as the green glass bottles allow it to get like struck very easily--which may be an issue in these reviews.
My favorite Oktoberfest beer--try it to see what Germans really love. JohnnyZ (90) - Illinois, USA - AUG 27, 2008
Love the octoberfest. Quality from a quality brewer. Best out of the tap at an Uberstein. This is slightly better than the original. Goog with brats. BeerZack (288) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 9, 2012
There is a bit of skunkiness here, but I like that. Super clean crisp and dry festbier with a tiny bit of some really dark malt character.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2009 I’m not sure why this gets such low reviews because it is an excellent example of its kind. Very malty, slightly alchol in flavor with low amount of hops to balance the cereal sweetness. Beautiful aroma pouring an ochre yellow hue you’d expect from a late season Octoberfest. 1l Drought at Octoberfest in Brussels. Nice golden with a good white head.
Nose : Citrus notes with a typical pils background. Honey. Sip : Full light beer sip with a nice carbonation. Malty with a great hop ending. I sense dark honey floral aromas and a bitter hop on the end. I really enjoyed this beer (2 liters of it). Great brew. Sometimes it made me think about Grimdergen from the tap. Really nice beer ! Nice malty aroma with a hint of spiciness. Appearance us a beautiful clear golden. Taste is what an oktoberfest is supposed to be, great caramel German malt base with a hint douce from the hops. Ether palate is very clean, this is an excellent beer. rgf001 (324) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 28, 2014
Fresh noble hop aroma. Clear light gold with nice white head. Hoppiest fest bier. Almost like an Imperial pils. Malty background. Dry hoppy finish. Frozer (240) - Illinois, USA - OCT 2, 2014
