4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
There is a bit of skunkiness here, but I like that. Super clean crisp and dry festbier with a tiny bit of some really dark malt character.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2009 I’m not sure why this gets such low reviews because it is an excellent example of its kind. Very malty, slightly alchol in flavor with low amount of hops to balance the cereal sweetness. Beautiful aroma pouring an ochre yellow hue you’d expect from a late season Octoberfest.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
1l Drought at Octoberfest in Brussels. Nice golden with a good white head.
Nose : Citrus notes with a typical pils background. Honey. Sip : Full light beer sip with a nice carbonation. Malty with a great hop ending. I sense dark honey floral aromas and a bitter hop on the end. I really enjoyed this beer (2 liters of it). Great brew. Sometimes it made me think about Grimdergen from the tap. Really nice beer ! Bravo !

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice malty aroma with a hint of spiciness. Appearance us a beautiful clear golden. Taste is what an oktoberfest is supposed to be, great caramel German malt base with a hint douce from the hops. Ether palate is very clean, this is an excellent beer.

Fresh noble hop aroma. Clear light gold with nice white head. Hoppiest fest bier. Almost like an Imperial pils. Malty background. Dry hoppy finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Big Honey nose, real pale appearance..much paler then any Oktoberfest Ive tried yet, looks like a typical lager. Smooth and satisfying, one of the better Oktoberfest offerings!

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2005 On tap at the Hofbrau Festivehall at Die Wiesen. A maas of this appears a little darker than its Spaten or Paulaner counterparts. This was what I had expected to find in that it seems to be a classic marzen, and not a lighter version for the fest. 2 very weird things happened at the Hofbrau tent: a guy selling radishes from a 1950’s style cigarette-girl style box and the German oompah band playing a jazzy version of "Sweet Caroline." This was surprisingly, my favorite Wiesen beer. UPDATE (6-7-5): Had this in the green export bottle at the Huber Haus. It was skunked and it sucked, but this negative experience cannot change my Munich rating.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2006 Re-rate: I agree with my previous rating, but must increase , my scores. This beer is GREAT. I must say I don’t agree with this sub 3.0 overall rating. I found this beer to be very malty, well balanced with a crisp fnish. Great color with a clean white head. I could drink a lot of these.
