The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

Sort of disappointed in this one, though it very well may have been because it was Memorial Day weekend, and this is an Oktoberfest. I loved the golden color and the thin head. The flavor was a bit bolder than I expecting with an aftertaste experience sort of like after a shot of whiskey. I am rating this, though conditionally.

Bottle 50cl. poured into a lager glass. Clear deep golden, good two finger frothy white head, recedes rather quickly, fair lacing; aroma sweet malts, grain, grass; taste medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, grainy, touch of caramel; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light bitter finish with a malty undertone; light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; decent and easy to drink.

Bottle sample at Cafe Brecht Amsterdam Pubcrawl. 15.10.2016. Thanks guys for sharing. Pour it clear golden color with medium white head. Aroma grains and sweet hoeny. Taste nice malty feel all the time, easy drinkable, straw in the middle, sweet finish, nice balanced, light to medium body, thick feel, average carbonation.

Cerveja excelente! Corpo leve, aroma destacado do lúpulo, e obviamente como a família exige, baixo destaque do lúpulo.

500 mml bottle tasted on the 30/10/2016. Clear pale golden colour with a huge white head. Aroma of yeast and grains. Taste is medium watery and intense yeasty. Next one please!

Malts and some grassy, herbal notes. Kind of simple in its taste, not very bitter, just very much average. Pleasant enough, but doesn’t really stick in your mind in any way, either. Nice, though.

Pours clear gold from the bottle and leaves a large, foamy white head. Aroma is grassy, herbal, with a large dollop of honey. Taste is overall sweet with a light bitter twist at the end that feels just a touch rancid. Simple overall with no twists or turns, but I can see this being a decent accompanyment to a heavy German meal of schweinshaxe and sauerkraut - something balance the sweetness and hide the flaws. Body is medium. The 6.3 ABV is very well hidden.

If I’m not mistaken, this is one of the six official breweries of Oktoberfest in Munich. Having never been there, this isn’t quite what I expected. It pours a clear straw colour with a foamy white head that fades quickly. Nose is floral with hints of caramel. Taste is extremely sweet. Notes of honey, caramel, cereal, and spices, but little maltiness. The hops start with a sharp bite and quickly fade to a light, floral taste. Full bodied and moderately carbonated. This is for malt what so many IPAs are for hops. Good flavours, but too unbalanced to be a really good beer.

Color amarillo claro con espuma blanca y esponjosa. Vistosa de burbuja fina. Aroma es a pan. Sabor a pan dulce y caramelo. Buena sensación en boca, cuerpo ligero muy bebible. Me ha gustado mucho.
