COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

Barely chilled. Like the label. Little hazy, pale looking lager. Excellent head, with droopy lacing. Subdued but present aroma of noble hops, yeast and grain. Body is a little lite, somewhat fizzy but for the style, pretty good. Upfront grassy flavors. The malt and yeast are mainly all that follows. The malts come off as bit more sweet than expected with aroma but still don’t show much. The finish has some grassy hop notes and yeast.Finish also picks up some dry grainy flavors as it warms up a bit. This is a decent Ofest it’s got a clean malt and hop taste, with a good yeast, but there are many I would rather drink. Little dissapointed as I do like me some German lagers.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2018 That one is disappointing as it tastes like the most common beer I used to drink. Got it from the LCBO 2017 Fall program.

Pretty standard Oktoberfest. Good hop malt balance, but nothing out of the ordinary

Bottle. Poured golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma of hop, bread, grass, malt and yeast. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

Fin skum der holder længe. Frisk smag uden for megen kulsyre. Forholdsvis neutral smag og duft. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

NikkTwist (3409) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 12, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 Draft at Macs. Clear dark orange pour with a thick white head. Feels like an artificial Marzen syrup added to carbonated water. Thin Oktoberfest sodapop. German yeast here but no developed flavors. Malted grain and tinned mandarin slices. Not drunk enough to like this.

Ar: Grainy, dry, and toasted; hay and a bit of sweet toast; lean floral hop aroma, very fine. Ap: Light gold and crystal clear; very large, billowing white head with excellent retention, leaving an airy crown of cloud-like foam with chunky lacing along the glass sides. T: Rounded toasted malt; hay and zesty hop flavor, filled with dried flowers, oregano, and pine, but very lean in character; medium-low bitterness; crackers and toast, very full through the finish; a bit of chalk; yeast profile is clean--really showcasing the malt--with a deep, slightly earthy and doughy character. P: Medium body with medium-high carbonation; very smooth and soft; finish is medium-dry. O: A solid example of a German oktoberfest; notably different from the common American versions, with an emphasis on base malt and hops, with no caramel to speak of; definitely on the lighter side of the style, but still with a nice amount of substance--always remaining quaffable.
