I drank this famous beer during some trips in Munich and particulary one with Fred at the legendary restaurant in Munich. We were drinking this beer and we took place in a table next to the main door. There was a Bavarian guy 100% drunk and it was speaking to us, maybe making a resume of the capital of Karl Marx, because this man was not thin and at a generous beard. It was really hard to understand this guy, even the fact that I speak not so badly german, you can put the traditional music and the crazy drunk guys singing like the Divz in the arenas of Verona and you could easily understand that it was a good memory of trip. This beer is a classical Bavarian lager, gold body, white foam, normal carbonation. The taste is malty, a bit bready, a bit metalic, some hop and watery, nothing great but it makes the job of happiness in this world.

On tap at Oktoberfest 2012, Munich. Pours a pale biscuity yellow gold with a thin head. Aroma: malt, mild citrus and honey notes. Mild earthy notes. Taste: biscuity malt, mild honey, mild caramel flavours. Thin bodied. Moderate carbonation. Well balanced. Easy to drink and very palatable. Great session beer, and great when coupled with hearty German food!

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2017 Tipica hell bavarese. Malto e luppolo si bilanciano per un risultato molto gradevole.

For a light beer, 5.1% alcohol, it is pretty good. crisp, refreshing, sweet, malty .some character, enough bitterness to round it out ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Probably the epitome of the Munich Hell, made famous by its landmark brewing house. But, hey, it is indeed one great brew, well-balanced range of flavors, however mild and easy to drink for an enjoyable drinking on a summer day (or any other occasion).

Великолепный Хеллес. Насыщенный солодовый вкус. Один из лучших в мире (ИМХО)

Spritziger, hell malziger Antrunk. Milde Bitterkeit, süßlich würzig, spritzig herb. Angenehm hopfig, steigend herb, eher trocken werdend. Rund, nett. 10/11/11/9//11

Nice foamy head that lasts the beer itself is heavy on the sweet malts as expected for a munich beer. No clear character in the hops perhaps some dryness that hits the back of the mouth. A light metalic taste in the finish from this particular bottle which is unfortunate. Its a decent lager though largely inoffensive and lacking any playfulness and energy.
