Green bottle. Poured into a flared pilsner glass, the appearance was a burnt yellow laziness. A one finger white foamy head leveled out at a nice pace. Mild stringy lace ran here and there.
The aroma started off with some sweet bready to biscuity maltiness leaning into some mild grassy hops.
The flavor is the same with some skunkiness starting to show through. Light semi-sweet bready aftertaste leaning into the finish, but that’s starting to show some skunkiness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a nice decent clean sessionable smooth feel to it. Carbonation rides light.
Overall, decent Hellas lager, good thing I drank it now. In less than a week, probably would be totally skunked. I lucked out. But still hate green bottles. DavidAust (273) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 26, 2016
500ml bottle. White low (half finger) foam which reduces quickly but keeps a bit more than a ring from that point on.Golden straw colour . Malty bread aroma and a bit grassy. Flavour the same. Minimal bitterness, slightly sweet and a little cloying on the palate. Skarecrow (688) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 19, 2016
500ml bottle BB 3/5/17
Light straw color with good head.
Slight grainy aroma.
Medium bitterness with slight malt body and crisp finish.
I was quite impressed with this one - a novelty to taste a decent German beer that wasn’t oxidized from the trip down-under and plenty of life left in it re BB.
Could quite easily sit on this one at Oktoberfest. lux_edwards (299) - - SEP 8, 2016

Keg @ Hofbrauhaus, Munich. Gold pour with a prominent white head. Nose is generally mild mannered cracker and white bread. Light peppery bite. Generally sweet cereal grain flavor. Mild hay. Light and quite spritzy. Solid stuff. RateDoc (1) - - JUL 29, 2016 does not count
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2016 First tried this beer on tap at Zhender’s in Frankenmuth, MI. It’s my favorite beer of all time! I can drink this anytime of day, very drinkable and enjoyable to me like no other beer I’ve ever had. Hofbrau is "King" in my book! IndianaRed (4542) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 24, 2016
