Bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy reddish brown colour with large, creamy, off-white head. Roated malts, banana and clove in the aroma. Taste is the same; well balanced, nice slight sourness, moderately carbonated, nice light mouthfeel, thirst quenching and very drinkable. Very good. Botella de 500ml. Vaso Weizen. Color marrón oscuro y apariencia algo velada. La espuma blanca crea una tupida, amplia y persistente corona que deja algún copo en las paredes. Aromas florales, torrefactos y florales redondeados por notas de pan y sutil banana. Entrada malteada, dulce y torrefacta. Cuerpo medio y carbonatación suave. Textura densa y cremosa. Bajo amargor y leve toque picante. Final dulce y prolongado. Retrogusto de esteres y agradable fruto seco. Una sabrosa cerveza, buena representante del Estilo.
500ml bottle. Wide lager glass. Dark brown color, chill haze appearance. White froth creates a close, thick & lasting crown. Some spots are left. Roasted, lager yeast & flowery aromas rounded by bread & subtle banana notes. Malty, sweet & roasted upfront. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Creamy & dense texture. Low bitterness & slight spicy touch. Long sweet finish. Estery & kind nutty aftertaste. A flavorful beer & nice spot of the Style. Alextricity (509) - Michigan, USA - MAR 25, 2014
Drink by 9-17-14. 500ml bottle. Dad picked this up in Italy.
Appearance: Diarrhea water never looked so good. Extremely hazy orange/brown color depending on where the light comes through. Small very light tan colored head goes away pretty quickly leaving about 1/16th of an inch of a thin head on top. No lacing that I can see.
Smell: The malts bog down that normally bright dunkelweizen aroma. Caramel malt with a little bit of that banana character typical in the style. Not a strong aroma, but quite nice regardless.
Taste/feel: That’s the ticket! This is really nice. The banana character is there plenty, but the caramel malts keep it under control. The after taste is a biscuity flavor with the banana and it’s really nice. There’s also a very slight tanginess on the end that calls for you to take another sip. The mouthfeel is outstanding with about a medium body with a mid-level amount of carbonation.
I was thinking about going with 3.75s for the taste, feel, and overall rating, but this is an excellent beer for *me* if I want something of the style. Silky feel on it, pleasant lingering slightly spicy and tangy banana biscuit aftertaste... this is some good stuff. My first from Hofbrau, and it won’t be my last.
