UPDATED: OCT 1, 2013 .5l bottle served in an Edelweiss glass in Berchtesgaden [brewery’s hometown].
Crystal clear amber and sparkling with visible carbonation and a towering off-white head that has excellent duration. Has a fine malty and very bready aroma, but still not such as to prepare me for the rich malty flavor. Enough hops to keep sweet and bitter in good balance. A bit floral and herbal. Near medium body. Exceptionally smooth. Perfect carbonation.
O: an outstanding beer with the light hop load of a Helles and the rich, malty flavor of a fine brown. Highly recommended! Flemish (1) - Kontich, BELGIUM - FEB 8, 2017 does not count
This is a good looking bear (at least due to the warm brownish golden colour, as we know in Belgium - Flanders for the little stronger ’Pilses’ like our Palm Brewers) but this is about far the best Pils in the South East Bavarian region of Berchtesgaden! It has a slight bitter hop taste, which in my (personal) opinion might be a little stronger to score better....
And as a Trappist beer drinker, I appreciate this beer - which is not always everywhere available in the region - very much comparable to a delicious slight bitter Pils! Superbe taste on a Terrace amongst the mountains! Bierkrug (2129) - - NOV 21, 2009
500 ML Bottle in Germany. Deep golden color with full white head. Aroma takes time to draw and access. Malty and grass notes. Smooth and nice beer. Goes down too easy and is very soft and drinkable. Very nice palate and very good. Still lacks some character but top class. crossovert (12934) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 19, 2011
A nice hoppier maerzen. I loved the hop flavor in this one. It was nice drinking it on top of a mountain near Koenigsee. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - JUN 5, 2013
Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty, with some grasy notes. Fine spicy. Not too dry. Well balanced finish, spicy notes are dominating. Quite drinkable. Nice!

Beautiful golden color, creamy head. Deep malt aroma. Malty, a bit sweet, maybe just misses some hop at the end. An interesting German bottled beer. fonefan (49355) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 6, 2013

500 ml bottle. L1. BB 8/13. From bierzwerg.de.blackisle (2585) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - MAY 28, 2016
Clear deep golden colour with a big foamy white head.
The aroma is very typical for a Märzen. Lot of maltiness, some sweetness, pencil, woody dryness and a hint of fruitiness. The flavour ain’t that bad. It’s very balanced. There’s spices, some caramel sweetness, malt, some mild saltiness and lots of dryness. Even though I don’t usually dig the Märzens this is quite nice. Very balanced indeed. Weak bitterness in the aftertaste.
Bottle 50cl. Poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear deep golden, good two finger frothy off-white to white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing; aroma pale malts, grain, grass, fruity notes; fresh taste, light heavy sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, grassy, smooth mouthfeel; develops gradually more bitterness in the aftertaste, leading to a sweetbitter finish, light fruity notes; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; pleasant märzen, quite drinkable. alebrewer (140) - Mentor, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2008
On tap at brewery pub.
Came in a beautiful ceramic stein that so I couldn’t really see this beer, but it tasted pretty darn good. Good hop note and good head. Decent body.
