Berchtesgaden Dunkel (Zwickl) - served in pils-like glass at the brewery in 2012 (from notes).
Crystal clear, dark brown with a typical tan head that has very good duration and leaves lots of sticky lacing.
S: Fine medium/dark malt aroma, although a bit faint.
T: malty flavor. Enough hops to keep sweet and bitter in balance
M: near medium body. Medium carbonation.
O: a typical Bavarian dunkel. Bierkrug (2129) - - MAR 16, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2013 500 ml bottle from Wasanas in Germany. Pours a nice chestnut brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and some fruit. Taste is a pleasant macth of the same. Palate is also mellow and very well done. MichaelAwesome (6519) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - JAN 9, 2013
Bottle shared with McTapps. Winner of a test evening due to its malty and but yeasty aroma. Some nuts and caramel may also be in. This one is "just" a delicious beer. pivnizub (10612) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - DEC 20, 2012
Bottle: Mid-sized, stable off-white head, chestnut-amber coloured, a bit unclear, moderate toasty, caramelly and nutty nose with a tinge of milk-coffee; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, really soft; lingering bitter-sweet finish with nutty and caramelly-bitter flavours. Absolutely a nice one… Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - APR 20, 2013
Single bottle purchased at an Edeka Markt in Shonau am Berchtesgaden, Germany on 01/10/2013. Colour: Dark brown with mocha coloured creamy head. Nose: Leather, burnt wood, toasted butterscotch. Taste: Rich malt up front then fades a bit at mid-palate. Quite flat in the middle - a stretch just to pull out some tannins. Gravy note near finish and more malt. Disappears fast on the palate. Was expecting better from one of my favorite little breweries.

500 ml bottle. L1. BB 07/13. From bierzwerg.de.kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - JUN 5, 2013
Clear dark brown colour with a small off-white head.
The aroma is dry malty with nutty dryness, mild sweetness and wood. Quite nice actually. The flavour is pretty much the same. Just a tiny bit more sweetness. Nice. Very balanced. Tasty and drinkable.
Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark, nice head. Starts mild, mild malty, modest roasty. Modest sweet background. Finish milder, almost too mild. So a bit boring. But quite drinkable. Okay. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 20, 2013
The head is ok, body black. It smells malty, sweet, darkmalty, bit fruity. The taste is darkmalty, malty, sweet, a bit fruity, sweet-citrus, refreshing. 12/11/11/11/12/11
