On draught at Hofbrauhaus Columbus. Clear reddish-brown color with a medium frothy light beige head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of malt, fruit and a touch of hops. Light-bodied with a caramel malt character and earthy hops and fruit undertones. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. Aroma of malt, pours a great looking reddish brown color with a lasting well laced tan head. Tastes of hazelnut, full bodied with a sweet malt finish. jsquire (4753) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - JAN 6, 2015
Dark amber color with a foamy beige head. Sweet grain nose. This is a light, sweet beer with some caramel and light toast. Easy drinking and uninteresting table beer. weihenweizen (4360) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2014
Same recipe as the other US Hofbrauhaus dunkels, should be merged. Amber, aroma is nice caramel malt, light body, low carbonation, and small bubble lacing. Taste is slightly off caramel malt and some herbal hops. The worst of the bunch.

Poured clear dark brown into half liter stein. Light sweet aroma, thin mouthfeel. Very drinkable with a malty sweet taste and just a little hoppiness.

On tap at the brewery -- thanks to Andrew R. for sharing his liter with me. Good milk chocolate, toasty malt. Nice nuttiness. Hint of dark fruit. Mildly hazy, darker red, slight brown color. Thin off-white head. Few short ropes and bits of lace. Moderate plus sweet taste, light bitter. Lightly dry. Decent dunkel. Enjoyable; only mildly rough, lightly spicy edge to it. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of creamy, lighter carbonation. Sort of dry finish. A decent dunkel overall, but not great. Somehow I feel like I like the Cincinnati version better, so far. Sort of an underattenuated graininess to it, just a hint.
