2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2015 At HofBrau in Rosemont. If all light beers where like this things wouldn’t be so bad. Really just tasted like a slightly watery version of the premium lager. Less body and a little less sweet. Not much hop bitterness. Serving: Tap

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2015 I honestly cannot believe that Hofbrau would make a "light" lager. What a sell-out. They should have stayed true to the German brewing traditions and stuck with flavorful and high-quality beers. This light version of their lager was lacking in body, flavor, depth and any other measurable trait of a decent beer.

Pours a clear golden with white head. Cereal grains mainly on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little floral hop note.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft (HB Chicago). Grassy light barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with nice head. Green hay and barley malt flavor. Mildly bitter herbal finish. Solid - not bad at all.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light, pale golden with lively carbonation feeding a silky head. Feint golden pilsen grain notes waft by the nose. Clean and crisp aroma and flavor. Light-bodied as expected with a crisp graininess, and hops take a backseat. Very well executed for a light lager.
