1/13/2018 (draft at Hofbrauhaus in Newport, KY): I don't really know what this beer is supposed to be, but it's pretty much on tap all the time at Hofbrauhaus Newport since it probably attracts anybody looking for hops. There's definitely hops there, but nothing over the top, of course. Biscuity malt, grassy/herbal and floral hops with a hint of citrus, spicy finish, mild bitterness overall. VERY balanced. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing great about it either and is definitely NOT and "India Pale" anything. Totally worth the $4/500mL glass when it's on sale though! ;) ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUL 22, 2016
Half liter at Hofbrauhaus Newport. Aroma: Moderately grassy and lightly herbal hops with a touch of lightly toasted bread. Appearance: Copper body with lively carbonation holding up a foamy bone head that only settles a bit. Flavor: A pronounced grassy hoppiness throughout; lighter toasted malts up front, but are quickly set aside; the finish is moderately bitter and pretty dried out. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Interesting German spin on the style that actually works pretty well. alexsdad06 (11392) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUL 4, 2016
500 ml draft at the Newport location from notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pilsner malts, grass, citrus, floral hops, peppery spice, toasted bread, crackers, I liked this better than I thought I would. On tap at Hofbrauhaus Columbus. Clear amber pour with a thick off-white head. Aroma of malt, slight caramel and crisp noble hop. Malty flavor with slight caramel before a bitter noble hop finish. Shot (575) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - APR 19, 2016
Actually had this on tap at the Hofbrauhaus Columbus. Copper-orange color with a sizable white head. Aromas of spicy German hops, citrus, sweet malt. Somewhat malty and fuller bodied than some of Hofbrauhaus beers. Citrus notes. Peppery mouthfeel. Nice hop bite on the back end. Assertively hoppy but smooth and drinkable.

Half liter draft at the brauhaus. Pours a lovely yellow-orange, very hazy, with about an inch of frothy off-white head - they love the froth here. Very pronounced German character throughout, with a crackery and toasty and sweet malt profile, grassy and spicy hops, straw, and a bit of fruit. Medium-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a malty, lightly bitter, earthy mouthfeel. Really enjoyable beer. I love how faithful this place stays to the mothership. 500ml on tap at the brewery, for $6.50. Been wanting to try this one since I heard about it a few weeks ago... Pretty exciting that they’re doing something like this. Lots of good german hops in the nose, big pilsener malt; I love that aroma. Very hoppy, yet very authentically German. Grassy, lightly spicy hop, and a good bit of lager funk. Love the aroma on this, really. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish, with a great, long hoppy peppery pilsnery malt aftertaste. Not sure how much clarity the dimpled mug provides, but the color is a mostly hazy amber orange color, with a good thin off-white head that retains well, and leaves plenty of thicker lace. Moderate bitter, kind of spicy taste, moderate sweet. Very enjoyable, flavorful, stuff. I had no idea what to expect, but this is about as good as it could have been, I think. Satisfyingly hoppy and bitter, yet at the same time it has a great amount of german influence to it, as well. Some friends told me this was an IPA, some a pale ale, but IPL was a great way to go... Way better than the alternatives for a hoppy beer done by an authentically german brewery. Awesome long aftertaste of spicy grassy hop and peppery pilsener malt, wonderful big flavor for just 6%. No smaller portions than 500ml offered here, but I didn’t mind chiefing my half-liter at all. Chudwick (3506) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - APR 5, 2014
Half liter draft - this is the third style attributed to this beer; will it last. IPL it is, for now. Hoppy indeed, of the citrus variety with grassy grasserson involved. Solid malty backbone. Decently balanced. Better than expected. Wife says she would drink it on a really hot day. b3shine (9339) - Indiana, USA - APR 3, 2014
Draft to 1/2L mug at Hofbraubaus in Newport. Looks good for the style; a mildly hazy orange with fluffy eggshell head. Smells and tastes mildly sweet and hoppy with notes of light grain and lager yeast. Solid on the palate. A decent IPL. Tmoney99 (15224) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 2, 2014
Tap. Poured hazy orange color with a medium to large frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus and floral aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy citrus bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded by this solid beer.
