Gangstergafje (1387) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - FEB 1, 2018
01-02-2018; bottle; at home (bought at Frankenland-Getränke, Neustadt an der Aisch, Germany). The looks of the beer are nice. It looks like a very thirst quenching beer. The colour of the beer is a nice golden amber. It has a nice golden glow. The beer is clearer than crystal. This gives it a nice watery look, hence the thirst quenching feel. On top of the beer a nice layer of rough, white, fast collapsing foam is formed. Foam retention is low. A rough drape is left after some time. So...not the most special looking beer, but it is nice. It fits the style...big volume thirst quenching beers. The smell of the beer is nice. It has a lovely malty aroma. Some nice beady malts, with a slight touch of light caramel. It gives just a sweet slightly bitter note. Hops aren't to strong, but some slight fruity notes are present. Not bad, but not the strongest smelling beer. But, style specific. The taste of the beer is pretty much the same. Quite some nice malts, giving sweetness but also that slight note of caramel. Hops give some nice bitters, but also a minimal fruity sour note. Just a balancing touch. This results in a wel balanced beer. It is not extremely flavourful, quite basic but nice and pretty style specific. The plate of the beer is also fine. Light body, slightly thin and watery texture and medium low carbonation. The finish of the beer has some sweet malts, quite some bitter hops and a slightly dry hop finish. All in all, a fine beer. An absolute thirst quencher. Not bad.

The beer starts malty, slightly sweet. A bit roasted-bitter, bit has hints of sweet Blockmalz. The aftertaste is long, malty-sweetish with hints of grain.
Nice darker Festbier. Decent and highly drinkable! --> 10/12/10/10

Heller, etwas süßer Beginn. Dieser Eindruck festigt sich, das Bier bleibt auf süß-süffigem Niveau. Geringe Herbe, malzig-süß. Trinkbers, ziemlich unscheinbares Bier. 6/8/9/9/8/9

bierkoning (13894) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - DEC 4, 2011
Bottle from Bierzwerg. Golden color. Bready grassy almost herbal aroma and flavor. Malty, medium to full bodied. Hint of butter. Well balanced malty festbier.

Quack-Duck (9550) - Down South, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2011
bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear deep golden colour, mid-sized white head. Intensive malty nose. Full-bodied, intensively malty, robust, chewy malt flavours dominate, hints of caramel. Lovely aromatic hops complement the malty body, very slightly floral in character. Delicious, a really, really good beer!
