COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle from Capones. Shiny gold body with abundant small to medium sized particulates, presumably from dry-hopping, and a tight sudsy white head. Aroma has robust malty sweet cereal qualities typical of a maibock/heller bock, plus a nice bonus of stonefruit and tangerine hop notes. Flavor is doughy and moderately sweet with pleasant spicy hop characters. Some gravity asserts itself on the palate, but sufficiently balanced overall. This is presumably fresh and a good, updated adaptation of an Old World style.

0,5 l bottle, Bought at Hof Luckmann, Bissendorf, Germany. If you ever be in the Osnabrck or Bielefeld area, visit them! Orange golden in the glass, little bit unclear. Big white foamy head. Looks good. Hop on the nose. Maybe with a little bit alcoholic elements and hints of burnt plastic. Taste has a balance between alcoholic bitterness, hop and a malty background. Increasing alcoholic sharpness. Later more floral hop influences. Strong and complex Heller Bock.

50 cl. bottle. Orange-amber body has some very fine particles creating a foggy haze. An island of meringue and ring of creamy foam sit on top. Nose is pine resin, light citrus zest and lemon toffee. Taste is tamer resin, honey and mildly sourish citrus toffee. Some toasted bread and dry grassy notes on the finish. Medium body has medium carbonation and no hint of the larger abv. Finish leans dry. Kind of a style buster and its a tastier brew than most Ive had in the style.

Aroma is mostly malt. Some bitter in the flavor, but I cant really place it as hop bitter. Body is good tho it has some alcohol warmth. Decent drinking beer.

500ml bottle (HBF2015, Helsinki)
Nice malty aroma. Nice malty body too. Fairly textbook simple bock, not grabbing me as much as I like to be grabbed by a bock. Wheres the almond? Alcohol kinda covered, I can round up my score for that.
