As projects go, beer and chocolate is probably about as good as it gets. The head on collision of a famous British beer maker with an innovative chocolate maker has been as exciting as it has been rewarding with results that taste as good as the pedigree should suggest. We think of this creation as a well balanced and fulfilling drink with a hint of chocolate that is both unexpected and beautifully complimentary.

Bottle from Inn at Home, Guildford. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are artificial chocolate, caramel, malt and hops. Sweet finish.

Bottle, pours a clear golden with a white head. It looks like a regular like but smells and tastes like chocolate (but not quite right) and cough syrup. Nah.

05-12-2017; bottle; at home (bought at a Lidl supermarket, somewhere in The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are like that of a Pale Lager. Not very special, but not bad. The color of the brew is a nice golden yellow. The beer is crystal clear and om top some rough white foam is formed. The foam disappears rather quickly, leaving next to nothing. The smell of the beer is nice, and quite special. It really has chocolate in it. The chocolate aroma's are that of sweet chocolate, and seem very natural. Didn't expect the beer to this chocolaty at firs, so I'm not disappointed. Besides the bittersweet chocolate, I smell some delicate malts and maybe only a touch of hops. The focus is really put towards the chocolate. This is also happening in the taste. Clearly chocolate, giving some nice bittersweet. Besides this bittersweet chocolate, there is some nice sweet malt and some bitter and marginally acidic hops. They are in quite good balance. Not bad. The palate of the beer is fine. Light body, a tick sticky and high carbonation. The finish isn't to long and is a bit dry, but also has some nice touches of hops. All in all, quite a nice beer, and really a chocolate lager. Not bad.

Pours clear yellowy orange with no head. Taste is relatively bitter malty lager and sweet dark chocolate. Mostly bitter in the finish. Nice and a little different.

Aus der Flasche getrunken. Ein Bier, das anders heißt als es aussieht und noch ganz anders schmeckt. Etwas verwirrend

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Bottle, Asda. Does what it says on the bottle, what are you all moaning ‘bout? Looks like chocolate lager, tastes like chocolate lager. Rich, creamy with a suggestion of cherry. I’m happy!

Icedwarf (1906) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2017
Geel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is verrassend, licht zoet met overduidelijk chocolade met iets van vanille. Combinatie bevalt best goed.

Clear, golden colour, light sweet, milk chocolate aroma with touch of cherries.

ruuurd (368) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - SEP 24, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 24, 2017 Bottle from Lidl. Interesting 'experiment', but imo not really tasteful. At first, the taste of beer and chocolate is cool, but the taste of the cocoa butter is to overwhelming: it actually made me a bit nauseous.
