Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of fruit and raisin, with a vineous sherry note. Sweet dried fruit flavour with a roast note Rune (13723) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 16, 2009
One-third pint ale dispensed on gravity at GBBF 09. Nice and clean, devil-black body. Smell of dark fruits and mild roasted malts. Jam-like flavour with fruitcakes and prunes supported by sweet, black malts. Well rounded aftertaste with rather low impact of alcohol on the palate (Earls Court, 07.08.2009). thewolf (12932) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 14, 2008
Bottle, bought at Cockneys, Aarhus. Pours a beautiful, deep, chestnut brown with a fine, frothy, off-white head. Sweetish aroma with lots of caramel, some roasted malts and a fruity edge with some red berries. Lowish carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit weak, compared to the aroma. Some light roated malts and chocolate with a subdued hoppy dryness. Quite drinkable. pivnizub (10906) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 16, 2007
Bottle: Very, very dark reddish-amber coloured, small fluffy tanned head; shy but complex aroma, composed of toasted malt, sweet fruits, coffee and liquorice; robust bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; sweetness in the fruity, coffeeish finish. a fine stuff.....

A very dark beer with a rich biscuit malt body along with smokey toffee notes - one for bonfire night perhaps. There is also a slightly vinous character. This is a little thin in the mouthfeel but still pleasant. deanso (10271) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - AUG 4, 2013
50cl bottle sampled with friends.
thin off white head. Clear deep amber pour. Nicebrew. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2007
This nice beer is almost black and it’s hasn’t got much head to boast about. Both aroma and flavour has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, and there is a nice and dry bitterness in the finish. It’s not a thick beer like a stout, but still pretty thick for a dark ale. I really like this one, truly nice... MoritzF (10199) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - APR 30, 2012
(bottle) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Moderately roasty malty aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, liquorice-spice and a whiff of dried fruits. Roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Hearty roasty malty base with hints of molasses, caramel and dark chocolate, accompanied by subtle fruity notes towards the moderately dry and bitter hoppy and roasty finish. Very tasty indeed. 04.VI.07 & 11.III.12 daniele (9888) - ITALY - SEP 23, 2007
