COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - Chritmas. Year round bottle conditioned.
First brewed shortly after the foundation of the brewery, OTT is a very rich, dark ale. We use 4 different malt styles - pale, crystal, chocolate and malted wheat - each of which has a unique character. Local Fuggles hops added at various stages during the boil enhances the beer’s depth. Old Tongham Tasty is named after the village where we brew in a farm on the edge of the Surrey Hills. Its complexity drinks ’like a festival of different tastes on the tongue’ - at least that’s how it was described after a lengthy sampling session.

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Moderately roasty malty aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, liquorice-spice and a whiff of dried fruits. Roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Hearty roasty malty base with hints of molasses, caramel and dark chocolate, accompanied by subtle fruity notes towards the moderately dry and bitter hoppy and roasty finish. Very tasty indeed. 04.VI.07 & 11.III.12

Bottle at home, from Waitrose Sunningdale, 31/08/13. Dark mahogony brown with slightly reddish hues and a good sized light tan head. Nose is bready malts, dark fruit tones, light cocoa, dates, sticky toffee pudding. Taste comprises cake mix, bready malts, treacle toffee, dates, muscavado sugars. Medium bodied with a little bite, fine carbonation, sweet fruity tang in the finish. A most decent old ale, I’d happily return to a bottle of this as a winter warmer ... IF ONLY I COULD DRINK A BEER I’VE ALREADY HAD BEFORE WHICH I CAN’T BRING MYSELF TO DO ANYMORE ... AAAAAAAArrrrrrrrghhhhhhhh

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a purple hue and a small tan coloured head. The aroma has notes of plums and sweet caramel together with a little licquorice. The taste has more dark fruits together with a little chocolate malt and a feel of oil or petrol. A nice tasty fruity, quite full-bodied beer

Bottle: pours dark brown with a tan head that soon disappears; aroma vinuous with some malt; almost oily feel in the mouth, reminiscent of a full-bodied red wine, pleasantly dry malty aftertaste. Really good.

En mörk strong ale med fin maltkaraktär. Ändå inte en öl som stack ut tillräcklig för att bli minnesvärd.
