3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rounded and fruity aroma, with notes of marmalade and marzipan, vanilla ice cream, candy. It’s not as good as that sounds - but it’s still pretty good.. Nice in the mouth - small bubbles - i approve. Taste - difficult to pin down - nothing amazing, but good. First up a slightly harsh bitterness, then creamy sweetness. I’d definitely drink again.
Pours dark golden with a good head. Little aroma. Quite sweet ale , chewy malty flavour, with a hint of hop. Chocolate overtones.

Cask conditioned at The Purple Turtle, Reading, Berks. Copper with white head. This is a malt lead beer, quite nutty, some caramel, some bitterness. Pleasant roasty notes, reasonably smooth. It’s fine. The_Osprey (7984) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 28, 2015
Cask at William Morris, Hammersmith as ’Hogs Back Rip Snorter’, 5%. Got an accidental pint of this one. Mahogany brown, clear, still, small dense foamy tan head, thick lacing. Aroma is bready, glue. Body is medium, smooth, soft carbonation. Taste is resin, glue, burnt toffee, polish and crystallised sugars. More resin and apple peel in the finish, with a honey linger. Assertive traditional hop character. A pleasant slow-drinker with strong flavours. digopossobon (391) - MACAE, BRAZIL - FEB 16, 2015
