Malt and ornage in the aroma. Sweet flavor with mandarins, sweet grapes and malt. Alcohol is clearly present.

Bottle conditioned. Ruby red, low head and condition. Aromas are muted but some malt is apparent, becoming more spicy in the mouth along with fruit. Full bodied and oily with a chalky bitter finish and a tingle of alcohol.

Hogs Backs strong use of hops is here well balanced by a luscious sweet malt base. The alcohol provides a rich satisfying depth. A splendid beer.

Bottled. Ive got the seasonal variety Santas Wobble, which according to their website was so popular they made it a regular and changed the name of it. Pours deep amber. Syrupy, fruity nose. Full bodied, malty and very sweet. Nice woody, spicy finish.

Reminiscent in many ways of a Belgian ale (though not in texture, in which it is much more an English ale), but with a lot of intrusive elements. Syrupy, medicinal quality, showing its alcohol much more than desirable. Some hints of burnt cinnamon or other autumnal flavors. (bottle)
