Pint on cask. A nice, pleasant, straightforward pint of bitter. Theres a little more sweetness than some bitters, giving it some caramel flavor, but otherwise its a standard pint of good beer.

Bit of a local brew this one, cant believe Ive not rated it before. Traditional Goldings/Fuggles mix for this delightful standard bitter

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in May 2009 - Amber in colour. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Fruity; apple, oranges. Hoppy; spicy hop. Tasty, full-flavoured, notably malty but well balanced smooth ale. Sweetish fruity malty throughout. Not too bitter. (2009-05)

Handpump at Doggett's Coat & Badge in London. Clear and reddish Amber color, off-white minimal head. Nose: traces of metal and butter (sadly), ripped red fruit. Mouth: a kind of under spirit fruit, dusty feel a bit. Decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: copper/Amber in colour, clear with thin white foam, Aromas: malt, sugary treacle with a hint of citrus at the end, Palate: Light bodied but feels heavy on the tongue that leaves a coating, Taste: quite simple of Malt, almost a hint of very bitter dark chocolate but also a little metallic. Overall: a good standard bitter but not one of my preferred offerings from the Hogs Back Brewery.

Clear amber, malple syroup color with small off white foam. Aromas, of malt mainly , bit caramely too with sugary notes, in a way smells like typical bitter, not bad but nothign outstanding. Palate, light body sweetish sticky and somewhat medium texture that sits on the tongue, leaving nice caramel malt aftertaste. Taste, light bitternes with sweet hints, quite maly and sugar bittery, with hints of grass that is very refreshing and very easy going. Overall, as a bitter it is nice (not massive fan of bitters) easy, refreshing and quite traditional for the style I would say, if you like bitters give it a try.

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2017 From bottle samples offered at Freiburg Sister city market (Guildford), 06/2015, notes. - More faint than subtle, yet still tasty interpretation of the UK classic MarisOtter/Crystal + Goldings/Fuggles = caramel orange, with some pecoe tea and lime leaves thrown in for more robust, quenching bitterness. Chalky elements and something else flabby that distracted me back then seeking relief in warm June weather, but Ill gladly have this again to get a pure & balanced UK hop dose unobstructed by US "hop forwardness". // 500ml 2017 from Waitrose I believe... Deep amber-orange pour. Quite fond of the simple marriage of natural English barley sugars and distinct, tea-bitter Fuggles: Lady Grey and bitter orange marmelade biscuits with a leafy edge. Maybe a tad too heavy on those crystal-sugary crystal caramel malts...
