On cask at the brewery in Denver. Pours cloudy dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of dates, milk chocolate and toast. Moderately bitter roast flavors, with a smooth mouthfeel. Well done version of this style. NachlamSie (3536) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 8, 2017
20 oz cask pour at the brewery. Hogshead never ceases to impress me. I haven't had a lot of truly British milds, but I never like them. I discovered a few American takes on the style that were pretty good, but now thanks to Hogshead I've had a truly great mild ale. This is a dark and creamy beer with perfect head formation. They've completely mastered cask beer. Very sturdy malty body with flavors of wood, leather, soil, and piney/cedary hop notes pop out for balance. It's impressive how full and rich the maltiness is for a beer of this abv. Each sip continues to be bready and meaty. Excellently clean and malty beer. At the brewery, Pours a reddish brown colt with full and creamy head. Lots of lace. Notes of plum, wood, bread, perfect malt, and other balanced mild notes. Medium to fuller bodied. Excellent example of the style GTAEgeek (2343) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 3, 2016
On cask at the brewery. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a medium, off-white head and great cascading bubbles and thick lacing. The aroma is dominated by dark chocolate, with some licorice, pumpernickel, and rye. Sweet and malty, with just a bit of roasted bitterness that balances nicely. Light to medium body, creamy, velvety, and malty. This is an easy and flavorful mild. Smooth, balanced flavor, and a luxurious mouthfeel.

On cask at the brewery. Reddish brown appearance with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, bread, light earth, light wood and hints of dark fruit. Similar flavor, complex and tasty with some light chocolate notes in the back. Light, creamy, smooth and soft on the palate. A top notch mild ale overall.
