Chalk board at the brewery said 9.8%. Traditional English style barley wine, but what else would you expect from these guys? Dark amber with some magenta color, zero head or lacing. Toffee and earthy caramel malts. Slightly thin palate. Nose is a little hot, but not too apparent in taste. Would love to age this, but great now.

On draught at the tap room. Cloudy reddish-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, resiny hops and fruit. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Deep amber color with well formed cask off white head. Light syrupy malt aroma. Moderately sweet barleywine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(En fût à la brasserie): Caramel pale, abricôt et une touche de colle blanche en arôme. Au goût c’est définitivement plus docile, équilibré avec un alcool discrèt.

On tap at Hogshead. Light brown with a large off-white head. Aroma is of toffee, booze, caramel, malt, brown sugar, fig, sugared dates, and raisin. Taste is of pecans, brown sugar, toast, raisin, fig, honey and toffee.

Tap at the brewery. The look is an antique white head, reddish color, slightly hazy. The smell is caramel, toffee, fruit, toast, malts, raisan, and fruit cake. The taste is similar, the alcohol comes through, treacle, and rich

Smells like a cross between a barleywine and a quad. Looks nice, a bit dark for the style with a sticky off white head. The taste is sweet, the palate is thick. Extra drinkable because it doesn't have the sharp hop kick or the alcohol burn of many other barleywines I have tried. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazed Amber, cream colored head. Nice and sweet up front, toffee, caramel, maple, cookie dough, very faint hops. Nice!

Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 3, 2014
Pours syrupy unclear murky amber with a whitish head. Aroma brings sweet malts, not resin but more with birch earthiness. Flavor bring similar notes, birch, sweet and earthy malts, and smooth bitterness.

Draft - Toffee and vinous notes. Cloudy brown with a rich beige head. Toffee, chocolate and some hops I can’t place. slightly bitter, but not quite an American style,

On tap at the brewery, 2012 version. Deep reddish brown with a dissipating tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma of fruity esters, caramel, sweet malts, light bitter hops, vanilla, toffee and dark fruits. Similar flavor with a pretty full body. An excellent English-style barley wine. A nice sipper.
