Københavnske Øldage 07. Nice golden color and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of butterscotch, the flavour of malt, light fruit and citrus. OK, but could have had more power and personality. 2079 larsga (7509) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 24, 2007
Small white head, orange body with slight haze. Fruity malt aroma. Bittersweet mango malt taste with citric roasty notes. Full, smooth mouthfeel. Bitter mango aftertaste. Nice and drinkable. (0.1l draft.) chriso (7533) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2007
Draught at Kobenhavnske Oldage, May 2006. Sold simply as Holbaek India Pale Ale, but I assume it has been renamed since then. Let’s hope the beer has been revamped since then too. I thought the Vesterbro IPA was bad, but this was worse. As others have noted, this was so laden with diacetyl and raw malt that any other characteristics were completely eclipsed. Clearly something has gone wrong here. But if it has, the brewery should be brave enough to admit that and not serve it up. Frankly terrible - I’ll have to give it another chance as I can’t imagine it can be this bad normally.
PS. I visited the brewpub on my 2007 visit but this beer wasn’t available so I haven’t been able to give it a second chance yet.

CBf07 sample from tap. Pours golden orange with a little lacing head, looks really good. Aroma is mouldy, buttery. Flavour is dry malty and not bitter at all. Vague finish. Flavour and aroma is a let down compared to the expectations raised by the visual appearance, sadly. Skinnyviking (9550) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 15, 2007
Draught. Small white head. Clear copper body. Sweet honey aroma. Mild hops flavor. No taste of honey. Flowery short aftertaste. Low carbonation. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 26, 2006
On tap at Cph Beerfestival. Clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma with citrus and pinecones. Malt, hops, fruits and pines in the flavor. Ok body and a hoppy finish. Seems that Holbæk preferes to serve their beers ice-cold, as all four were too cold, at least on friday night. (060519) madsberg (11762) - Søborg, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2006
Draught @ KØ 2006: Golden coloured. Clear. Off white head. Citrus, light pine and some vague herbal notes. Flavour is quite full of diacetyl. Some grassy and sweet notes. Thin bodied. Not my kind of IPA. Storm (2684) - Amager, DENMARK - JUN 7, 2006
Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2006. Golden clear colour with a little head. Light hoppy citrus-like aroma . Very light tasty flavour with some hints of diacetyl. Very very light for an IPA.
