Quite dark in colour, more than I expected anyway. This was a pretty fresh bottle so it had plenty of piney, citrus hop aroma. I think the key to these beers is getting them as fresh as can be, ideally on tap. Good malt flavour there, but the hops are the star with some firm bitterness to back it all up. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 17, 2011

In The Moon, Stockholm. Copper colour, small beige head. ARoma is fruits, sweet malts, mild raisins as well as some mild plum and hops. Flavour is rather hoppy with some sweet malts and raisins. Pleasantly balanced. A year or so after BBE, but it’s aged rather beautifully and especially in the flavour the hops are still alive.
Easy as double ipas go - an Australian icon - good green aroma great on tap - get into it

I found this beer pretty damn good especially for an Australian brewery who IMO don’t do IPA that well. quite surprised at others low ratings. Anywho perhaps it is because it is branded as a double IPA. It does seem to be between IPA and double and maybe if branded as IPA expectations might differ? Bottle at 137:ans, Södertälje.
Lovely barley wine nose, lots of barley turned to sugar. Glowing amber. PAst its sell by date, but this has blended into a flawless, sweet beer. Some bitterness in the back to keep it form getting to sugary. Next time I’ll try a fresh bottle to compare.

I had this beer when on a recent trip to the Philippines and had to bring a few bottle home. I’d put this up with any of the craft beers in the US any day. If you didn’t know this was brewed in Australia you would think it was brewed in the states. I’ll be looking for it on shelves here for sure. ngunity (183) - - JUL 16, 2015

330ml bottle, minimal head retention but a nice citrusy hop aroma with some caramel malt coming through on the nose. Super well balanced, easy drinking for a double IPA TheGrandMaster (2335) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 23, 2008
Draught. Delicious aroma, chocolate malt with tropical fruit hops. Did not get as much hops on the palate as expected, but still plenty of chocolate malt and, not surprisingly, lots of alcohol. More dry and bitter in the finish.
