Bottle at chris_o’s "smash Kook’s granny tasting". Alround rating: Quite a bit of caramalt, noteably sweet, grassy hop and orange peel, but its too sweet for me. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 29, 2013
Pours a little hazy copper colour with an average sized dense beige head with bits of lace up the glass. Aroma is sweet tropical fruits, pine, faint alcohol and sweet caramel malts. Flavour is pine, resin, tropical fruits, caramel, medium-high bitterness balanced by a med-high sweetness. Easy drinking though a little on the sweet side. Strange - the toffee/caramel malt flavour seems completely separate to the herbal hops instead of integrated together - malt dominates - not as bitter as expected (wanted more) and darker coloured (wanted less) - not to my taste - not pleasant but not awful. jonnyguns (1108) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 7, 2015
Bottle from mane liquor. Nose shows dank hops like pine and resin. Taste is much the same, full mouthfeel, bitter pine hops. Solid.

28/12/2009, 330ml bottle from Highlandlad (slainte!). Dark amber, much darker than I’d expect from an "IPA", but has a delicious looking creamy white head. As expected from the colour, there is with a strong malt presence on the nose: melanoidin toastiness and some toffee, with just a whiff of herb and spice from the hops... this follows in the mouth, where the toasty character really needs to toned back a fair deal to increase drinkability. It doesn’t really know what it wants to be but it isn’t badly made at all, and could be really good with a couple of tweaks (less dark specialty malt and more hop bitterness and flavour). Muddled.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, fruittiness and light pine. Palate was medium bodied anbd smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, fruittiness and pine with a smooth dry bitter lingering fruity finish. Rangi (671) - NEW ZEALAND - JUL 6, 2013
Pleasant deep amber poor, head lacing the glass all the way down. Aroma of malt and hops. A harsh hop aroma to me. Flavour is a subtle hops with mellow maltyness. There is a pleasant sweet malt taste at start with a good amount of bitterness on the aftertaste. pintbypint (3921) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 19, 2013
12oz brown bottle, best before Jan 31, 2014. The colour of this beer is dark orange/amber. The head is whitish, small, but lasting. Nose has some rich caramel and toffee, some hops that are citrusy and piney. Overall, leans on the sweet side and lacks enough hops for me. stoutnick (843) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 17, 2014
Murky caramel appearance. Aroma is a big confused - almost smells like a butterscotch infection due to the interplay between the big malt base and the hops. This is all about the big malts - big caramel sweetness with some bitterness floating out.
