Imperial Mocha Porter
A luscious warming mouthfeel, with coffee induced bitter notes contrasting with sweet chocolate and vanilla. Dangerously easy to drink, liqueuresque in flavour with a kahlua like finish. Like The Goddess Europa on her Bull, its’s easy to get carried away by this little dark number.
Available from 11th Feb 2011 in kegs as Limited Release, and sometime after Easter 2011 in 750mL bottles, approx. 120 only. Very limited and very special!

50 cl bottle thanks to sebletitje! From Systembolaget in Malmö. Sampled on June 12, 2013.
No BB date I could find.
Black color, big yellow to brown lasting head. Vanilla, chocolate, alcohol, rich, smooth scent. Alcohol, sweet, malty, chocolate, toffee taste. Roasted, sweet aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
Highly sippable, not highly drinkable though. A nice beer to relax with for a bit, but I’m glad we could split this bottle two ways.

Draught at Tippler’s Tap, Brisbane, on July 20, 2013.
Black color, brownish yellow color. Sweet, fruity, smooth scent. Sweet, malty, grainy taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Black pour with big fluffy white head. Lots of flavours including: vanilla, coffee, chocolate and maybe a little too much alcohol. Not bad, fairly solid beer.

5/15/13. Shared by a random pre-BA Roosevelt. Dark pour, small tan head. Light mocha, metal, and a hint of sourness in aroma and flavor. Not great.

lots of barrel characters about this. shiraz barrel aromas plus vanilla coffee nuts same again on the palate. great length on the palate. great stuff

Compared to some of the other worldly big porters/stouts I tried at RBJG this came off very much second tier. All the classic flavours are present but it seems a bit flat, dare I say lifeless and certainly not overloaded with charm. Solid, but not much to get excited about.

AndySnow (7621) - Huddinge, SWEDEN - APR 2, 2013
Bottle at RBJG 2 Grand Tasting, thanks Unm4rk3d. Dark brown colour with a small beige head. Minimal lacing. Aroma of coffee, dark fruit. Sweet caramel, fruit flavour.

TimE (5817) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 1, 2013
sweet unbalanced but ok depth of nuts and chocolate. Decent, but too cloying and sweet.

jdpeebs (686) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 24, 2013
