top aroma and bitter taste, lovely gold like colour that is sharp on the palate and leaves a good lasting flavour.graeme acacia ridge kahn (48) - AUSTRALIA - APR 5, 2010
Bottle - an easy drinking old style pilsner. Citrus aromas and grassy flavours with noticable Saaz hops, but not too much that it overpowers the flavour. Low carbonation makes this beer easy to drink a few in a session. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 4, 2003
Draft AIBA 2003: I liked this one, firmly malty, yet soft at the same time, citrusy floral saaz on the finish, well balanced. jonnyguns (1105) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 8, 2015
Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a straw yellow with minimal white head. Nose has citrus and light bread malts. Taste is super clean - light fruit and yeast malts coming through. Very solid stuff.

Very interesting pils. Fruit characters uncommon in the style come through, and an excellent long, dry, finish. Almost tastes like there's something in it, but there can't be with a pilsener, right? Reinheitsgebot and all that?

Bottle - Clear gold. Frothy white head. Low to medium carbonation. Smooth, soft mouth feel. Sweet, slightly citrussy, rich in floral hop flavour, (sazz). A hint of musk. Low to medium bitterness. Very nice! Maris (1513) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - OCT 8, 2010
From a 330ml bottle on 8/10/2010 (label says bottled 20/7/2010). Has quite a strong grassy and slightly floral aroma. Has some bready notes and a fair bit of honey in the flavour, and has a decent hoppy finish. A pretty good pilsener which would be quite sessionable. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 11, 2003
nfob03. i would struggle in a blind tasting to distinguish between this and the st arnou pilsener. mild sweet saaz aroma, pretty sweet with some late bitterness. served way too cold, if you're going to make a czech-style pilsener why not serve it at cellar temperature like the czechs do? mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 27, 2004
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2004 Rather yellowy-green looking and rather pale. Decent head. Fruity, slightly hoppy aroma with a rather thin body but decent malt flavour and mildish bitterness. Slight astringency in finish. Not Holgate’s best work, but OK.

Rerate: Had it on tap at Mac's and it was pretty good. Less hop character than I would like but a really nice soft maltiness. Again, VERY pale.
pale straw yellow, short lasting head. aroma of lager/sulphur , floral hops, with the malt in the background. The pilsner malt come out more in the flavour. A pretty good balance with the hop flavour, though the hops are a bit more subdued than i have had in other "western" pilsners. Finishes dry, although not all that bitter. moderately low carbonation. not bad
