Served on Nitro. Pours with a black body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing left on the glass. It’s slightly sweet and malty, full of vanilla bourbon notes and a light roast. Full bodied, creamy and smooth.
On cask at the Pizza Port Strong ale fest 2009. A very tasty impy stout. Pours a very viscous midnight black with a creamy tan head, light lacing. Some dark chocolate, coffee and burnt malts. Flavor was very creamy chocolate with some faint coffee notes in the background. Another unsuspecting standout at the fest. WeeHeavySD (3387) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Cask at Strong Ale 2009. Pours black with a light brown head. Nose has a touch choco. Taste is big and extremely chocolaty. Wow, this is a solid brew. JohnnyJ (5570) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 12, 2009
On cask at the SD Strong Ale Fest 09. A very nice stout. Dark black with creamy tan head. Dark chocolate, cream, roasted coffee, vanilla, and a note of nuts. I was getting coconut in the aroma, but I think my nose was deceived, no cocnut in the flavor. Creamy mouthfeel, slightly thin for what it is. On tap at the 2009 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest, this beer hits you immediately with a huge bourbon nose. The body is thin and basically tastes mainly of bourbon

Served on cask at the 2009 Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival. Appearance is a flat black. Full roasted chocolate malts, mild bourbon intensity (relatively for the day), decent wooden tones. Cask is not necessarily my favorite for Imperial Stouts. wetherel (1884) - Cupertino, California, USA - DEC 6, 2009
On tap at PP Strong Ale Festival. Wow. Nice buttery barrel aged aroma. Sweetish. Malty chocolatey. Very good.
