A very nice lager with a defined but balanced taste.
This was a ’passage of rites’ drink and was much more popular when I was a teenager.
It’s a shame it doesn’t seem to be so popular in the UK now.
On the plus side this also keeps the price down. Leighton (21231) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2015
Enjoyed this by the can many a time - mostly recently at the Covent Garden Odeon, last night. This beer pours pale yellow (I’ve poured it before!) and has a quick, foamy white head. The nose is crispy cereal, light metal, pale bread. Light-medium sweet flavor with with lightly biscuity pale bread, some simple sugars, mild grain husk bitterness, some hay. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty crisp to finish with some further bitter grain notes, cereal and biscuits. Solid available-everywhere pale lager. 500ml can from the local offy. Clear yellow. Decent head. All you’d expect it to be, aroma, and taste wise. Pounded it down, whilst the missus turned her nose up, telling me how much it stinks. So I did the same with the next can. Probably won’t bother with a third, though... Deane (2) - Newcastle, NORTHERN IRELAND - AUG 22, 2014 does not count
Really enjoy the taste of this beer, easy drank, nice taste and quite smooth.

Can. Aroma is sweet, malty, earthy. Taste is sweet, grass, malty, gentle bitterness. Average AshtonMcCobb (6581) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 8, 2012
Bottle at the Lochview Motel. Pours lemon with some head. The nose is mostly pale malt - like porridge oats in a way. The taste has more of the pale malt but with a citrus zing on the end. The palate has a light body, with a creamier than expected texture and a dry refreshing finish. Overall, this was better to go back to than I expected. harrisoni (18572) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2015 Can at Chriso New Year 2012/13. clear gold lasting white head. has an aroma of not malt. some hop though. still ok drinkable. The corn is quite startling. some cardboard 2.1/5 re-rate. I drink about 8 cans of this a year so I must quite like it. It’s not as bad as some pale lagers commercially made, in fact there is a touch of lemon which is quite decent. Sim81 (17) - - APR 19, 2015
Not bad, and certainly has more body than a lot of other mainstream lagers. The main problem for me though is the sweet taste. Joakgust (1452) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 26, 2015
Can. Clear golden beer with a large white head. Aroma is spicy with notes of bread, toast, herbs and hay. Flavor is malty with notes of toast, bread, cereal and some herbs. Well balanced.
