Bottle, 330ml. A dark black colour with a large frothy brown head. Aroma of plum, malt and honey. Flavour has malt, some hop spice, unexpected citrus, a little milk, nutmeg. High carbonation. This doesn’t really work for me; the honey doesn’t come through, nor the malt I expect from a stout. Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - SEP 14, 2014
bottle from Darts Farm Topsham. Dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet dark malty flavours, very light-bodied with a drynesss in the background. Hints of honey. jmgreenuk (9326) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - DEC 24, 2012
Cask at The Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham. Poured dark mahogany colour with a thin tan head. The aroma took a while to develop, but eventually came through with liqourice and spicy notes. The flavour is weak bitter but very fruity with some pleasant alcohol burn on the palate. A superb Xmas brew!
