Popurs clear dark amber with rich high beige head. Dryish malt, maple syrup and fruity aroma. Bitter crisp, fresh sweet maple syrup and fruits flavor. Acidy sour on palate. Finishes dry tart bitter lasting long. booldawg (70) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 16, 2010
The maple wasnt as blatant as one would expect from these ’beers with a twist of whatever’ as it blends in with the malts quite well.
Quite heavy at 4.8% with plenty of bitterness in the aftertaste. Not a big hit aroma that you’d usually expect from Cascade hops. wheresthepath (2345) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2011 23/1/2010: [500ml bottle shared with Dad - cheers!] Amber with a modderate rapidly dimishing white head. Moderate fizz. Odd, mouth-coating powderiness. Some sourish bitterness, sweet and sticky behind. Old dusty hops with a heap of caramel and very light hints of maple syrup. I’m not a big fan of this one, I’m afraid. 5/3/4/2/8
Re-rate 26/11/2011 [500ml bottle shared with Dad - cheers] Amber, mod cream head. Maple more evident than I remember (good - I like maple syrup!), but the beer has a powdery texture, and is rather sweet and very dull. 6/3/5/2/10 (rating on site is average of two tastes. Bottled. An amber beer with a thick orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as a light note of honey that lingers in the lightly bitter finish.
