Quite nice smooth bitter. Very well balanced between bitter and sweet, hop and spice components. Herbal and especially wood notes. Some fruits also detected beside spices and traces of tobacco. Caramel-fruity smell. Creamy texture. Medium-lively carbonation. Very drinkable. BeerBaboon (2095) - FINLAND - FEB 14, 2011
Keltainen ja vähävaahtoinen olut. Tuoksusa on hieman mallasta ja pahvia. Mieto ja neutraali. Hieman hedelmäisyyttä myös. Maussakin on pahvia. En kelpuuta eteeni toiste. mike_77 (6673) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - NOV 30, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2016 Aroma has some woody notes in the background and lots of sweet malt. Smooth texture. Long lasting flavour full of toffee and maple sweetness. Full bodied. Great taste. McWorta (1627) - LUXEMBOURG - JUL 17, 2012
Bit floral/heather smell with a typical ale head. Orange/amber in colour and a clear liquid. Sweetish and a wee bitter hint, well balanced though. Medium body, slick and a bit oily texture. Lightly fizzy/lively. Mellow with lasting finish without being too pushy. Expectations are met and would go well with duck. McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle shared with hubby. Amber in colour, low and steady head. Aroma of fresh hay, caramel and biscuits. Thick, creamy texture combined with the taste of dark honey, roasted nuts and caramel. Great one.

Popurs clear dark amber with rich high beige head. Dryish malt, maple syrup and fruity aroma. Bitter crisp, fresh sweet maple syrup and fruits flavor. Acidy sour on palate. Finishes dry tart bitter lasting long. Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Pours a nice pink - orange colour with a thin beige head. Maple syrup on the nose with toffee apple and caramel also. Similar maple flavour without being too sweet. I like the oily mouth-feel. Mild carbonation. I’m surprised by how much I like this. StueyD (1583) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2012
Mid amber brown coloured beer with a weak, off white head. Sweet, slightly spicy aroma, perhaps because of the maple, but malty and a hint of hop. Dry mouthfeel. A bitter initial flavour is followed by a mild sweet taste, nutty, caramel and a tiny hint of spice, with a faint hop flavour in the finish. JohnCook101 (535) - - NOV 25, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours clear copper with thin creamy head. Aroma of malt and ozone. Light toffee apple flavours. Malt and bitterness well balanced with a distinct sweetness throughout. Perhaps a touch too sweet, but very enjoyable. flying_pig (1572) - SCOTLAND - APR 1, 2013
500ml Bottle from Morrisons (£1.59):
Sweet, biscuit malts and sugar, it is also very bitter on the nose. There is a definite fruit base with cherries and some strongish caramel.
Caramel amber with a clear body and a thumb sized, dome shaped, foamy white head that reduces in size only slightly.
Caramel & biscuit malts with a strong bitter undercurrent and lots of darker fruits. There is some some cherries and sugar with a touch of hops and maple too. Sweet and bitter finish.
Smooth, medium and moderate carbonation. Goes down well and seems stronger than it is.Quite creamy feeling.
Sweet and seemed stronger than the 4.8% abv. on the label. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would with the dark fruits and sugar working well with the bitterness. It was a pleasant tipple.
