ogivlado (7839) - Zagreb, CROATIA - SEP 18, 2013
Bottled 500ml. -at Cervecería Oldenburg-Hermana Mayor, Madrid. Almost black coloured, small to medium sized pale beige head, slight lactic caramel nose. Light roasted malt, mild chocolate and caramel with notes of dried fruits. Mild sweet finish. Not bad at all.

500ml Bottle: best before 20 Dec 2012, poured @ home into a UK pint sleeve on 15 Nov 2012. The beer was obtained from my local B&M Bargains Store. Nice deep, dark ruby red colour with a full uneven covering of tan foam on top. Brown sugar type malty molasses in the nose and taste: this is a malts first and foremost brew. Prunes, plums and mixed nuts vie for your attention in the flavours as the malts and hops go to work with each other. The body is moving towards rich and thick: the beer reminded me of those old winter warmers because it has that sort of Christmassy fireside taste and palate. Cheap to buy: well worth the cost and I’ll be getting some more in for December.

Dark brown colour. Aroma of dark malts and caramel. Rich, malty taste. Flavour of dark dried fruits and light toffee. Slight metallic edge.

berkshirejohn (6502) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2015
50cl bottle from Morrisons, Bracknell. A attractive deep reddish chestnut colour with a thick creamy beige head; the aroma has some raisins and demerara sugar, and also some damp earth; the mouthfeel is creamy with a complex blend of flavours - some bittersweet chocolate, some purple fruit, coffee and raw cane sugar, all balanced by a pleasant bitterness; and rounded off by a dry, warming, nutty finish. Rather good.

Bottle. Aroma has caramel, ambiguous hops, light caramel, biscuit, roasted. Quite nice. Clear dark brown colour. Taste is well balanced. On the bitter side, but in no way is malt subsided. Light roast, caramel, grassy hops. Moderate body, nicely drinkable. Tasty beer. Good.

Bottle. The last time I came across this was in a long time closed off licence in Hackney. It was considered a rare beer then-I bought this one from Morrison’s. Dark brown with a medium head. Lovely flavour that lingers. A medium body and an impressive beer. A blast from the past that hasn’t mellowed with time.

50cl bottle at the Ape and Apple, Manchester. Very dark reddish brown, close to black, with an off-white to beige head. Lightly roasty aroma with dark fruits and caramel. Sweet and fruity with a nice malt flavour and a pleasant bitterness in the finish. Well balanced. Medium body. Nice and flavourful. (2013-01-26)

500ml bottle courtesy of mr_h. Very derk red, big foamy head. Sweet treacle aroma. Toffee malt flavour. A bit watery and weak for a 6% beer.
