Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a moderate tan swirl.
Nose is rich fruit, spice, toffee, dates, prunes, cake mix.
Taste comprises fruit loaf, toffee fudge, light spice, Beglian yeast notes, candied fruit peel, brown bread, light cocoa rub.
Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

2014 batch at the source. Pitch black with khaki head. Medium mouthfeel with well hidden alcohol that comes through in the finish with a warming sensation. Flavors of licorice and dark fruits. woodychevy (874) - - FEB 1, 2013
In a word. Sweet. Really sweet. The malts really take over this one although there is a hop presence from the Vanguard. Pours dark. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. On tap, dark ruby brown pour with no foam, aroma of licorice and chocolates, lots of malty caramel, raisin bread, licorice whips, chocolates, dense syrupy finish Drake (13649) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, raisin, herbal hops, spice and citrus. The taste is toffee, raisin, dark malts, chocolate and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied with a faint bit of booze. Nice.
