2014 batch at the source. Pitch black with khaki head. Medium mouthfeel with well hidden alcohol that comes through in the finish with a warming sensation. Flavors of licorice and dark fruits. woodychevy (874) - - FEB 1, 2013
In a word. Sweet. Really sweet. The malts really take over this one although there is a hop presence from the Vanguard. Pours dark. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Not quite the right balance for me, but I am hardly a doppelbock expert. Least favourite of the Holy City flight. blutt59 (6579) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2013

Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toffee, raisin, herbal hops, spice and citrus. The taste is toffee, raisin, dark malts, chocolate and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied with a faint bit of booze. Nice.
