3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle share at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Thanks Ken! Pours a mostly dark brown-black with a one finger tan head. Head gone in under 60 seconds. Little lacing. Used a snifter. Aroma of roasted malts, hint of coffee, dark chocolate. Taste fell a little flat. You get the roasted malts fine but it just seemed to not exude much in flavor. A little thin for my taste regarding a porter. Medium body, light carbonation. Finish is roasty and slightly bitter.
Poured from a tap. Dark brown color, small off-white head. Sour malt and milk aroma. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel and a chocolate malt flavor with a sweet finish.

The perfect pairing for BBQ. Pours a dark brown with almost no head. Lots of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Slightly nutty.

From tap. Dark brown, nearly black, with a thin beige head. Nice aroma of malt, roasted coffee, nuts, chocolate. Nutty flavors, roasty malt, hops to balance, slight salty character. Smooth texture, medium body, roasty finish. Nice. JDBaker11058 (2310) - Maryland, USA - JUN 15, 2017

Random can from the hotel lobby snack fridge in Charleston, SC.

5/26/2017 (12 fl oz can): Aroma is light overall, but does have some licorice, tobacco, and cocoa notes; near black color with a voluminous head of tan-colored foam; the flavor has some semi-sweet chocolate and dried dark fruits, earthy and dry finish, mocha-like bitterness and some tobacco in the aftertaste; medium-light body, very carbonated; the first can that we had of this was pretty good, but this one is extremely foamy and carbonated (seems to be better after pouring it into a larger glass and letting it settle down).

Rather weak porter, watery and light with an off-putting metallic undertone. Main characteristic is the roasty backbone, bitter and smoky, yet there’s little else going on to play off this base; a yeasty, tangy-cherry middle overwhelms the brew, leaving the finish with a coffee-ish bitterness that seems empty and thin. Not good. No canning date, so judging by the other reviews either this can’s old as hell or something has gone horribly awry. BeerandBlues2 (13654) - Escondido, California, USA - FEB 24, 2017
Draught at the brewery. Pours black with a medium, creamy beige head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is roast malt, dates and light earthy hops. Flavor is moderate roast malt, prunes, light earthy and woody hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. aracauna (3633) - Georgia, USA - FEB 19, 2017
On draft. No head. Fairly sweet, but not heavy bodied. Chocolatey. Maybe a touch of diacetyl. Not bad. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2017
Clear brown body with a small wispy beige head. The nose is chocolaty with some nutty notes, light hops, and light-roast coffee. The flavor is a bit thin, a little grainy, with chocolate malt and coffee. Light leafy hoppiness on the finish. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Ok brown Porter, maybe a touch thin.

Pours black with tan head. Has a roasted malt and watered down coffee and chocolate aroma. A watered down chocolate, coffee, malt, and light dark fruit aroma with some grain. A lingering dark fruit malt and grain aftertaste.
